abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield is live at the scene. >> reporter: hi, kristen. i just got off the phone with the police chief. right now they are saying they got the call as an assault call. they don't know if it was a domestic violence going on, domestic dispute. they are still working to sort out the details. look behind me. they are still investigating the scene. in fact, they just used a 3-d mapping camera over the scene so they could get a good image of their crime scene, and it is a large one because it involved a foot chase. this started just before 2:00 this morning. they say it started at the kentwood apartments in napa. police were called about an assault and told that the man had a gun. they found him later because he had run away. they found him riding his skateboard. they did end up chasing him. police say they then got into a fight with him and then an officer used his rifle and shot the man who died. we met with residents of the vineyard terrace apartments who heard what happened and talked to police who were on the case. the first woman you'll he

amy hollyfield live at treasure island. amy? >> reporter: there are signs of change all over treasure island here, reggie. look behind me at the detour signs, all of the construction going on here. that's w ahy ts o get this toll in place right away. the board known as the treasure island mobility management agency will be meeting later this morning. they could set the toll and it could be set as high as $4.50. they're doing this because this island is growing. there are homes under construction right now. they want to discourage people from driving during peak times. they want to avoid the congestion that could create getting on and off this island. they want to encourage the new ferry service that will be coming here and this toll will help pay to create that new ferry terminal on the island. they'll be adding new business lines. e ll help fund more public transportation options and they do believe if this passes, it sounds like it likely is, it will be in effect in 2021. they want to get it in effect for 2021 for all the new

amy hollyfield is live in san francisco with an interview you will see only on 7. amy. >> reporter: hi, jessica. yeah, the security guard's niece spoke to abc 7 news. she said she wants people to care about him and what happened. her uncle, 57year-old dan jansen is out of a coma. doctors had to remove part of his brain. he can't speak or recognize his family at this time. he was attacked last month while on the job as a security guard. his he niece says they are relieved an arrest has been made and that the police department has put together a solid case. >> i'm just really focused on having my uncle in people's prayers and having -- just focusing on him being well again. because everything else -- of course we want justice to be served. his niece says she has seen the sufrl video but it is unclear why he was attacked. the suspect denied our request for an interview. >> amy, thank you. an oakland man who pleaded guilty to providing material support to isis is expected to be sentenced. he pleaded guilty to three counts of phony credit cards and identity theft. in de

abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield is live for us at that scene. amy. >>> this is a three-story home here. the couple was trapped up on the third-story bedroom where they were sleeping. firefighters say they got the call a little before 1:00 this morning. they did have a christmas tree. it is too early to say what caused the fire. >> we are under investigation, so i cannot give any determination whether a tree was involved or not. what we do know is we had a fully involved second floor which trapped victims on the third floor in the bedroom areas. we have two victims. one deceased, one in critical condition at the hospital. pending notification of family. that's all we can say at this time. >> the home is on clay street between cherry and main 'em. they have not released the names of the victim. they say it is an older couple. one firefighter was hurt. he had burns to the neck. he will be okay. he was treated and released from the hospital. we just noticed within the last few minutes the fire chief herself is here on the scene. i want to bring in j
