thatit is a tough job chuck schumer has. schumer is going to be focused on trying to position democrats for the white house in 2020. he will try to take back the majority in the senate. senate math in particular, he has better math in this cycle than the last one. democrats were playing defense. there are a lot of states that trump won by a large margin. the democrats lost several of those seats. 2020, the only seat they are playing defense on is alabama, where doug jones is looking to be did. -- reelected. they have a few opportunities, but not easy ones. susan collins in maine is a formidable figure. troy gardner in colorado. to some extent, schumer will be trying to create issues and make it hard for these republican senators in some of these states to -- they are being squeezed between trump and their own voters. i think schumer is attuned to where his caucus is. he likes to say that he is the center of this and it democratic congress. there is bernie on the left and joe manchin on the right. he always finds a way to be
