it happened in a matter of seconds yesterday in sacramento. the victim was the only one home when the suspects rammed the garage door to sneak in. right now, investigators say they are unsure why the home was a target. the family of the victim says the thieves got away with very little. the homeowner who is still shaken by the incident wanted to conceal his identity. (robin) two men are now facing charges...police are looking for a third suspect. (robin) officials at a california horse track are trying to figure out what killed more than a dozen horses. nineteen horses have died while racing or training at the santa anita track in arcadia since december. no one is sure why. but officials are looking at the track surface as a possible cause. the area has seen heavy rains this season, which may have affected the track.

(ken) an avalanche has prompted amtrak to suspend service between sacramento and reno. this is a picture of a plow train that derailed while trying to clear the tracks. right now, there is no service on the california zephyr until weather conditions improve. the avalanche sent snow onto the tracks yesterday morning at donner pass. two trains carrying nearly 300 passengers were forced to turn around because of the closure. one of the trains was traveling from chicago... and the other from emeryville. there is no estimate on when the tracks will re-open. (ken) a snow plow diver in south lake tahoe found a woman alive in her car after she had been snowed in. the driver was clearing the snow covered roads when he struck the back of the car that was illegally parked on the street. the driver contacted police to get the car towed away but as they started to dig out the car, a woman stuck her hand out the window waving for help. the woman said she had been there four to five hours, but the amount of snow covering her car led officials to believe she was there longer. it took s
