to las vegas. and the early indications it was once again felt in las vegas. we want to get out to our correspondents from southern california. with the latest. sarah cider in l.a. >> i'm inside of something that people do love to do on friday here. whenever the dodgers play. they are here in the stadium at l.a. we are about more than 150 miles from where the epicenter is in this particular quake. and you can feel the entire area. everybody in the stands felt it. for just a second the game was stopping for a minute. the fans cheered their way through it. this is strong and they felt it. the reaction wasn't fear. people started to cheer when it was over. it lasted a few seconds. it felt stronger than the first one on thursday. i experienced that inside the office. that caused our 15th floor building to sway. and caused light poles outside to sway. it's being felt. but seeing that the initial reading was a 7.1 estimate. that's a large quake that can cause a significant damage. now it's downgraded to 6.9. seismologists were very clear saying there's a one in 20 c

this earthquake rattled california and caught several people off-guard in las vegas, fresno, and even san jose. pg&e says they haven't found any gas leaks so far in the ridgecrest area. there's been no reports of any bridge collapses yet. inside this marshall store in ridgecrest, california, agony can be heard as lights went off and glass shattered in the store and employees screamed for everyone to get out. customers ran out and young kids can be heard in the background crying while the fire alarm was going off. more than 170 miles away from ridgecrest inside the casino outside of palm springs, the lights in the casino began to sway back and forth like a cruise ship. customers can be heard running and yelling for cover. in this other video we can hear a woman running to a young boy pulling him away from a trailer that was moving nonstop just feet away from him in the desert. the earthquake was also felt in las vegas in the middle of the pelican versus knicks nba summer league game. the building shook postponing the game. now the san bernardino county fire district also reported this,

but we should also mention las vegas felt it, and las vegas may have felt it even stronger. why? because of where this particular earthquake was centered. ridge crest is actually closer to las vegas than it is to, for example, los angeles. so wherever this is epicentered that is where you're going to feel the strongest and have the most potential for damage and injuries. i do want to mention this to folks who are in the southern western part of the country. do not call 911 unless you have been injured or there are injuries you can see. because what happens is those phone lines get filled with people saying we felt this earthquake, we want to know what's going on, that is not the venue for that. the los angeles police department are asking people unless there's injuries and an emergency please do not call us. there's ways to get information online. but when those phone lines get jammed and there is an naerjs, there are fires, for example, people injured, there are damages people are concerned about, they cannot get the help they need as soon as they need it. so that's one warning

it was felt in las vegas. on a different level. you'll see things swaying and people walked out of the restaurants or houses or where ever. this is earlier in ridge crest where a house caught fire. everybody did make it out safely. i think come daylight we'll hear more about the devastation. that is in this particular area. a man that molly spoke with earlier described his house as sliding off the foundation. and he lost his home. he went around and checked on neighbors and got them out. and animals out. which is what everybody there is doing now. checking on neighbors. that's what they're advised to do. and sit tight. we don't know scientists don't know at this point how long these after shocks are going to last. it's about 100 miles away from the san andreas fault. that fault has nothing to do with this. that's what the scientists told us earlier. seismologist who has been keeping us updated was saying this is a con vvergence of different faults. faults that are spreading. every earthquake is an opportunity to learn what works an
