i'd like to see what mike has to say about that let's bring him on in. >> so, yeah. i'm actually with you on delta and the 737 max thing is obviously very interesting we have lower fuel costs which generally has been a tail wind for the airlines it represents one of their larger operating expenses, although it has conflicting issues because some of the older aircraft can stay in the fleet and keep capacity up one of the things i would point out is we have earnings coming up in delta. we've seen a 7% pop in the stock, but it doesn't move that much around earnings, which is interesting to me when you wh e consider the space we've only seen one. out of the last eight quarters, we've seen one move where the stock moved more than 4% the other thing i find interesting is the longer dated options are quite cheap. so i think the way for us to make a play here is to put on the upside callender spread. i was looking at the july 60 i can sell by 65 cents and buy september 60s for $1.65. i'm spending a dollar. the idea here being that this earnings report is likely also going to

mike, what are you looking at? >> i'm looking at facebook i think it is probably the biggest name that will be reporting next week. you know, often times on this show we talk about our desire to try to sell things when overpriced and buy when cheap. in the case of facebook, of course, going into a catalyst like earnings, what you're going to see is the nearer dated options will see elevated premiums, higher implied volatility we do see that the other thing i would point out is longer date it options often aren't affected quite as much we could look at the difference between the longer and shorter dated ones and say it is at the high end what we will look to do is sell the near-dated options and buy the longer-dated ones. the final point i would make, talking about cheapness, facebook, despite the fact that obviously we've seen a very strong move in the share price over a long time, is not particularly expensive we really need to think about these things in terms of valuation, not price on that basis it is actually

mike: we had a spectacular rally. around $4000 for bitcoin to months ago, we traded up as high as 13,800. people got excited for real reasons. because of facebook, uber, mastercard, saying everyone participate in the cryptocurrency world. all of these things went from guys like him saying these are all tulips. the biggest companies in the world say they will participate on top of yale, harvard, stanford. the question around stabilization has been answered. now it is a question of taking the time to build out the systems. people are rushing into front run institutional accounts. things are getting a little carried away. i think we are at 10.8 right now. i think we will see the market consolidate between $10,000 in $14,000 for a while before it takes off for the next leg higher. the new institutions, the state of x, the state of wisconsin or the texas teachers union. then you will see bitcoin go toward the old high of $20,000 or higher. taylor: when you say parabolic move, our ears take up. talk to me about when you sol

mike >> thanks very much. the cobbler's kids, you know what they say about them once bitten, twice shy a bit of caution by one reading that might be evaporating. we'll see. tortoise and the hare, pretty self explanatory which two groups that's about and goldilocks or the bear the cobbl er's kids, how they've underperformed s&p 500. historically, they've been the best stocks to own their productive, effectively, is the stock market. what you've seen here is the big guys of last year underperforming, black rock, t. rowe price pretty profound under performance. today some of them are bouncing. it's a little bit like when the energy stocks underperform the commodity. it's because the market either thinks it's not sustainable or these companies are not positioned to profit the way they were used to be able to profit healthily from this trend. flows are not that great fees are being compressed. they look fairly cheap if this rally has legs, these guys could be prime for some kind of a catch-up move. morg morgan stan

mike >> morgan, looking at some baby bears. late last year we started to talk about the precedent for the market to have these mini bear markets, down 20% or so in a short period of time then a strong rebound when there was no recession immediately imminent so here is a tracking of those three prior episodes this is from fidelity. '94, '98, 2011 those are the colored lines. the white line is the average of those experiences. they're lined up with their market lows right here the yellow line is the current path you see we're tracking relatively well compared to those other averages if i would make a cautionary note in terms of extrapolating from here, in all those other times, the economy did react sell rate after you did get a dovish move by global central banks, and also in 1994, there really wasn't as much of a decline. that was a little bit of a different platform we were building off of. so it's not necessarily the case that, you know, this is all going to work out great because of course, we have had 20% declines and then
