peninsula east bay and north bay as well most of us watching definitely affected by those as far as red flag warnings we eased off or east bay foothill areas just above oakland berkeley down through the san leandro hills just about fremont too. that's good news to see that red flag warnings have expired in these areas, but they still do remain up in the north bay for napa sonoma in marine county is just north of the golden gate. so these are the areas that cruiser watching really closely today as they could provide the most winds as well still some very low humidity to now i mention that a little bit cooler than yesterday. temperatures this morning though are pretty much in just the same at 60's and 70's. a good chance to step outside for your morning hours maybe get a nice little jog in after the sun comes up would recommend it necessarily right now for oakland and hayward it's actually a little bit warmer than yesterday conquered you're in that same boat along with san jose. each 5, 6, or 7 degrees warmer. but at the same 0.24 hours ago now into the afternoon. we're still holding

peaceful on the bay today. no small craft advisory. east bay in the 60s at 9:00. we break out in sunshine quickly today. mid 80s this afternoon. down to 77 at 7:00. for the peninsula, we're in the 60s and pretty cloudy through 9:00. break out sunshine by 11:00 and break into the 70s. we'll hang out in the mid 70s this afternoon. 70 at 7:00. here is a look at hatteras. you can see the eyewall punching through the outer banks right now and into some of the sounds, pamco sound. it's got 90-mile-per-hour wind. thankfully it's calmed down a little bit. it's racing off to the east and picking up speed to the northeast at 14. you see the area in red is where we have 74-mile-per-hour or faster winds, hurricane force winds. that's the entire outer banks. that's what we're dealing with. as it moves on out, it will create a lot of rip currents and dangerous surf. after this evening it should have minimal effect on anybody along the east coast as far as rain and winds. we'll talk about how the wintsds will change our weekend forecast coming up next. here is frances. >>> follo

a red flag warning is about to go into effect for large swaths of the north bay, east bay. >> here's a look at what communities are impacted and when. >> absolutely. we do have the critical fire weather conditions that we are facing, red flag warning for the north bay mountains, east bay hills and diablo range 9:00 p.m. tonight until 11:00 wednesday. winds out of the north-northeast gusting 30 to 40 miles an hour, humidities in the teens to 20s. you can see much of the north bay with the exception of parts of the valleys in the east bay. you will see what areas are under that red flag warning all the way down to the south bay. same general areas with the exception of the coast under a heat advisory. a larger portion of the bay area, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. tomorrow so heat-related illnesses are possible. here's what you need to know, drink plenty of fluids before you get thirsty. find some shade or ac. i know not homes are equipped with ac. wear lightweight clothing and don't forget about kids or pets inside vehicles. it can get much hotter. i'll be back to let you know how hot it's

it starts to hit the monterey bay. as we head into the afternoon and evening hours, it lines up along the coast. look at thursday afternoon. it drops us about 10 degrees across the board. 60s, 70s, 80s friday. 60s and 70s sunday, monday and tuesday. >> a new injury crash in livermore. that's a bad spot, but in the eastbound direction, to reverse commute. eastbound 580 at greenville, it's causing a bit of slowing in the westbound direction, especially once emergency crews get there. traffic has been slow westbound 580, a crawl out of tracy, it picks up through the altamont pass. slow making your way through dublin because of another accident near the dublin interchange, westbound 580 at 680, they're trying to clear from one of the lanes. there was an earlier accident at the bay bridge toll plaza, which has already been pulled off to the right-hand side. and traffic is now backing up almost towards westbound overcrossing. metering lights will probably be turned on shortly. live shot of the san mateo bridge. and spare the

area you can see the red flag warnings up to the east bay, especially the north bay i think napa and sonoma i think that you're going to see some of the strongest gusty winds. that's going to be interesting because i think most those winds are really going to be above the urban area, so above a 1000 feet or so that's where we're looking at the red flag warnings are posted down below you're not going to see a whole lot of the way of wind. but this is the forecast and wind gusts overnight tonight and into the next couple of days you can see the yellows and the orange begin to pick up this in calistoga atlas something or showing up there. some 20 maybe some 30 mile an hour gust. then it will calm down again throughout the day only to pick up again as we head in toward tuesday night and wednesday morning and i think a wednesday morning actually be the strongest a period of gusts and most of that will come in the north bay, the rest the bay area you can see calm down. way down below as you're going to the humidity also falling off quite a bit humidity levels expected down into the teens i
