south carolinians know joe biden and joe biden knows south carolini carolinians. he has long-standing ties in the community. we invested a lot of time and resources here on the ground. we feel confident about our ground game and also feel confident about the relationships that we built and foster. you can expect vice president biden to campaign hard here this week. i would venture to say that people would write our campaign off after new hampshire and we told them, look, you have to hear from nevada and south carolina and super tuesday. over one-third of the delegates are up for grab and super tuesday where california is in the mix but the sec primary where the people of african-american voters in this country get to have their say. i think people need to hold their horses before they try to read the tea leaves too quickly. vice president biden is very much in this race and we believe we'll win south carolina and we'll garner enough delegates in this. >> when you talked to bernie sanders and he was not doing well, a strategic change that seems to have born fruit,

and joe biden in fourth place. and amy klobuchar in fifth. and andrew yang, you can see him over there with 1,124. and that is the popular vote that is being released from the iowa democratic party. and remember the popular vote is interesting, but it is the state delegates who are going to determine the win over the iowa caucuses, and you can see with 62% of the precincts reporting, among the state delegates, pete buttigieg is in the lead right now with 26.9%. and bernie sanders is in second place with 25.1%, and 18.3% for elizabeth warren, and joe biden in fourth with 15.6%. but, remember 38% of the precincts remain at large. we don't have those results yet, and the party chairman troy price did not tell us when we would get the remaining precincts. we are walking over the david chalian and over here this way to david chalian who was over there, and now over here. and so a little bit of the analysis here, and we have a difference of the state delegates, and who is number one and the popular vote who is number one. so your mission, explain.

the hope is to get close to even with joe biden. in nevada last weekend, there were some black voters and the margin was 38-28. biden got 38, sanders got 28. ten point margin. the sanders campaign was hoping to keep it around there or tighter. if it's anything like this on saturday, you are looking at a joe biden landslide. if it's worse at this, you're looking at a big landslide. the black voter in the clinton/sanders primary it was 86% for clinton, 14% for sanders. he got that four years there and he's at 14% with black voters in this poll. we'll see what saturday brings if the polls are right. what we're seeing right now. we welcome in andy shain from the daily newspaper in south carolina. he's on the ground in state that has all of the world's attention. thank you for joining us. let me start with you. the numbers on this board are telling me there has been sudden and dramatic movement to joe biden. does that hold out in that you're see on the ground there? >> you know, very much so. i mean, joe biden has been leading in the pol

and then of course joe biden and this is the elephant in the them in this democratic primary joe biden -- off the fourth place in iowa, is he doomed to another fourth or fifth place finish in new hampshire, he' he is countin a strong performance of the states that are still yet to come like nevada, south carolina and super tuesday states, especially those with high african-american populations but if he goes forth and fifth, it gets difficult to see so we are looking at a really fascinating night ahead of us and one with a ton of storylines and one that's going to tell us a lot about where this is headed. >> a new national polls shows bernie sanders ahead and michael bloomberg coming in third. and the lead by senator sam was nearing the lead we are seeing based on all of the polling tonight in new hampshire. >> this is the first time in the polls that bernie sanders has been in first place among democrats nationally. we've always talked about how thibernie sanders was going to e strong in iowa and new hampshire but he did the same national appeal. there was a time he was in third place

i was calling it 18 days of misery for joe biden. but, in fact, what we've seen so far is actually something of a mood among democrats especially democratic leadership. we heard it from speaker pelosi to say let's give this a little bit more time to breathe that joe biden has not had a chance to run as he has said himself in states with a more diverse electorate where he deserves to do stronger. as we've seen mike bloomberg, part of what the biden camp was worried about coming out of pour showings, he's starting to get the scrutiny not just from joe biden but from the rest of the candidates and the media as well about his record that i think opens things up a little bit for him. what we're seeing is a real strong effort here in nevada by the campaign to try to perform well here first or second place showing. give them a little bit of a head of steam heading into the fire wall of south carolina. they think it gives them even more momentum and money heading into super tuesday. >> it raises the stakes for his debate performance on wedne
