body cam video from last august shows police approaching mcclain and pinning him for several minutes in a neck hold. several reports claim the officers now under investigation were photographed re-enacting the arrest. on sunday a violent vigil in memory of elijah mcclain held there in aurora came when riot police moved in. a lawyer for mcclain's family was there and said the police action was unprovoked. >>> next, that troubling incident in williamston, north carolina. an employee confronted an african-american mother and her two children at the pool, asking them to prove they were guests at the hotel, but showing their room key wasn't enough. the employee called police, who ran the plates on the family's car. tonight, that employee no longer works at the hampton inn and the mother has released video of the encounter. here's abc's adrienne bankert. >> reporter: a disturbing encounter at a hotel pool. >> i'm here on business. so they are harassing me. >> reporter: this woman accused by a hotel employee of trespassing at a north carolina hampton inn. >> she says it's people like you th

elijah mcclain seems to be just confused about what's going on. he says at one point, i'm an sp introvert, please respect my boundaries, saying, he's just going home. things escalated from there and he eventually ended up in a choke hold by police where he briefly lost consciousness according to the initial police report. and when he regained it, they said the struggle continued. later on, paramedics were called after that brief loss of consciousness, and according to the report, ketamine was administered, which was basically to sedate mcclain. well, he had a heart attack on the way to the ambulance and was declared dead three days later. now all of these ten months later, we have seen more than 2 million people sign a petition to reopen and re-examine this investigation. and here's how the family attorney is reacting to that. >> it shouldn't take millions of people signing a petition and it shouldn't take international media attention for elected officials to do their jobs. >> and the governor of colorado, jared polish, released a statement sayin

justice and an investigation into the officers who put mcclain in a chokehold. nbc news correspondent gabe gutierrez isaurora, colorado. what's going on with this story? >> reporter: yes, as you mentioned, there was a development overnight that surprised some people when the police chief made that announcement that several officers have been placed on paid administrative leave. we just learned some new information today. they say this complain by another officer that these two pictures, the complain was made last thursday. that's when the interim chief was made aware of this. we understand the internal investigation has now been completed. but it is now being reviewed by the police chief's review board and then it will have to be viewed by the police. the officers then have some time to be able to appeal this. it is unclear when we might get to see what's on these pictures but i did hear from the police department. the other officer made a complaint of a potentially inappropriate set of pictures taken by those other officers. there's that and then there are a lo
