maria: would the u.s. consider acquiring ericsson and nokia to send a message to the world that if you use ericsson-nokia, you've got the backing of the united states government as an alternative to huawei? >> so, i mean, i gave a speech a while back saying that it was, the two companies best positioned to compete with huawei are ericsson and nokia. but unlike huawei, huawei has the backing of the chinese government, and all the chinese government money. so just to give you an example, for 5g network facilities, the total global principal market is probably around 90 billion, and the chinese have set up a fund of over 100 billion to subsidize it. so they can go to countries and is say we'll put this in cash-free. you know, very cheap money. so that's what we're competing against with huawei. and companies like ericsson and nokia are the strongest western competitors in this sector, and i gave a speech saying that, ultimately, the west has to rally around these companies. whether that means private ownershi

maria: yeah. kelly jane, what do you think? kelly: a moderate in the democrat party has really changed. when hillary clinton ran, a decade of 1.4 trillion, biden has been calling for $3.4 trillion in tax hikes over decade. that's more than twice as much and, you know, i'm looking at what do we expect, we will hear biden talk about green energy. let's keep in mind what happened when he was vice president. you had debacles where the government is giving millions of dollars to companies and it's just going nowhere, the whole idea that the government is going to decide which energy is going to be energy of the future and picking companies, winners and losers, it hasn't worked in the past and essential not -- certainly not going to work again. maria: the counterreport that i'm looking at is this is negative for credit bureaus because creating coalescing government run creative bureau where they offer back loans and they would have to use it. something that has a chance to advance if we do see a sweep.

maria: all right. cheryl, thank you. now some of the top stories that we're watching this morning. senate republicans have unveiled their $1 trillion covid-19 stimulus plans, as enhanced jobless benefits for struggling americans are set to expire on july 31. it calls for a reduction to $200 a week, down from 600. they're calling for a $1,200 stimulus check, $105 billion to help schools reopen, and another round of the paycheck protection program for small businesses. along with liability protections. this plan must now be reconciled with the democrats' plan, the $3.5 trillion coronavirus proposal. the meetings began last night with steven mnuchin and nancy pelosi and thill wit they will . the race to find a vaccine for coronavirus reaches a new stage. companies plan to enroll 30,000 people in the united states with the main goal of preventing symptomatic covid-19. the trials are first late stage studies supported by the trump administration. moderna and pfizer this morning, pfizer just reported earning

maria: yeah. stephen: the fed will try to offset whatever tax and regulate policies that come through but we are talking -- i think the market is only starting to look at the fairly radical progressive agenda, you know, of a biden presidency. you know capital gains, tax rates going up, ordinary tax rates on small business and high-net worth individuals going up. that's going to slow growth trajectory. for us we would have to take down our long-term growth trajectory and make stocks a little bit valuable, but there will be -- i don't think the market is going to crash and the markets has started to assume that biden is going to win. i think they think they will hold the senate. my guess is if biden does win, the senate goes with it. maria: all right, we will keep watching that, obviously. stephen good to see you, sir. have a good week independence day to you, stephen auth, hard rock international chairman james allen is here on atlantic casinos as they open doors today. at 7:00 a.m. hour we are tak

maria: emily. emily: to that point, i'm curious what your sources are saying when biden announced his plan, what do your sources say about that? do you think it would catalyze plan to to refine it or come up something different and i'm curious to the response to those? >> there's a little bit of frustration because joe biden beat donald trump to the punch when it comes to releasing a specific plan on the economy. the trump response, though, i spoke with him in the oval office just on tuesday is very simple. he argues that if you embrace joe biden, if he gets into the oval office he told me that we will be looking at another recession, in fact, a great depression. his argument so far is he built a successful economy in 4 years and which he do it again and here is where he has an advantage, voters still remember a lot of the anemic growth that occurred during the obama administration. i expect trump to zero in on that while continuing argument that we heard in mount rushmore, culture war and the econ
