now to the north bay this morning and essential service for essential employees is in danger of running out of money very soon. the north bay children's center has been providing free childcare to essential workers since march that's when the county first issue did stay at home order money from the county's emergency operations center has kept this program running. >>but that money will run out on friday. >>childcare system across the united states has been fragile long before covid-19 and is now on the brink of collapse and this is a system that has been underfunded and undervalued and primarily subsidized by the labor of women of color are not a children's center for example. we have now opened all 13 of our locations and we can only operate at 46% moment, but it does require a 113% are typical staffing. and that's simply not sustainable and that's how it spends lean out from most child care providers across the united states. >>and gilmore is hoping that the child care essential act is approved in the next recovery package that would put 50 billion dollars in the child care programs
