thank you very much robin. well, the united states has hit another unfortunate milestone in the coronavirus pandemic with more than 6 million now confirmed cases and here in the bay area across the state the numbers are going down actually kron four's jonathan mccall takes a look. >>the united states continues to lead the world in the number of coronavirus cases. monday the country now topping the 6 million mark in california in the bay area, a recent rapid rise in cases from just a few weeks ago appears to be slowing to a brisk crawl. >>i say we're down about 20% from the peak of second wave of infection. it's all looking good. and you know we need to keep on doing what we're doing in just the last 24 hours california saw just under 4200 new cases. >>in the last 2 weeks the state has been averaging around 5,000 new cases a day. it's a big difference from just 14 days ago when the average was around 10,000. deaths also appear to be stabilizing at around 120 to 130 on average for the past 2 weeks. doctor george
