upper 60s to mid-70s for highs around the bay area. and notice the cloud cover change from 8:00 a.m. to lunchtime. just like that you'll begin to see the skies start to clear. now, in terms of the wind speeds we're not expecting much until we get to about 5:00. notice the areas in purple around the north bay hilltops and those winds driven by the cool air. that's going to help transport the wind speeds down to sea level. gusts in the 40 to 50 mile per hour range possible around midnight and staying gusty in the hills as the wind speeds start to lighten up a bit across the lower elevations but still gusty there 5:00 monday. similar time line through the central bay. notice 5:00 tomorrow evening wind speeds are starting to pick up, peaking from midnight to about 4:00 a.m. but notice the santa clara valley down to morgan hill. might be a bit of a wind shadow effect at least for parts of bay area, south of san jose strongest gusts look to be across the inland north bay and east bay. and by 5:00 stronger wind speeds stay and at the same tim

in a bay area counties that are going to be affected. yes, so let's show you the map we've got a 136,000 more customers now that could lose their power today and this is a pg map showing where the widespread power outages are and you want to pay attention to the areas in purple you can see along the peninsula we're talking about a lot of the communities. they're in the mountainous regions of san mateo and santa cruz counties over in the east bay you can see a lot of communities there particularly along the east bay hills down into the diablo range and then of course out blow we've got a lot of areas in purple and then in north

this is for most inland portions of the bay area. those north-northeasterly offshore winds sustained 15 to 30 miles per hour, but gusts could get up to 50 to 55 miles an hour in some of the highest peaks and any spark that gets going will spread rapidly. hopefully we can get through the next couple days without any new fires starting. temperatures tomorrow will get even hotter. we tied a record high temperature in napa at 97 degrees, set a new high record temperature in concord at 96 degrees and temperatures will be a couple degrees hotter thursday. we'll look at those records coming up in a few minutes. >> thank you, paul. >>> here's the current outage map. the first round of safety shutoffs are already happening in parts of the north bay. those are the areas in purple. in all, more than 22,000 customers in parts of seven bay area counties will be left in the dark. >> the power is being turned off as we speak for up to 33,000 customers and 19,000 additional customers we expect the power to being turned off starting around 8:00 tonig

this is a big weekend for several bay area counties. if you're here you'll see a super voting center, a center where instead of having several polling locations, they will have one center. the oakland coliseum being one and the san mateo center behind me being the other. california voters are not required to show identification but if you are voting for the first time in the state after registered by mail, it is suggested that you bring one. in terms of contracost a county, voting there started a few minutes ago. centers are held at churches, hotels, businesses and community centers. a quick check at the contra costa registrar's website can tell you where to go. san francisco county has early voting at civic center location. the polling site has been open several weeks and continues to see visitors. we had a chance to catch up with some folks and listen to their experience and why it is so crucial that everyone gets out to vote. >> i don't know why. because of the covid, i guess? yeah. because last three or four times, the neighborhood
