let's bring in chief meteorologist jeff ranieri. how widespread do you think this fire danger is? >> well, it's going to be to the northeast and the south bay hills. it will be an event where it's on again/off again. we will see gusty winds, things calm down and it will ramp back up again. the fire danger overall isn't until 8:00 a.m. on friday. a red flag fire warning in the north bay, it's a little more critical and a fire weather watch for the east and south bay hills. i want to be clear on this. 2,000 to 3,000 feet is the top risk. you have to go way up in elevation for those 15 to 35-mile-per-hour wind gusts. sustained 5 to 15 and also that low humidity. now, something else we have been following is the earthquake near alaska. 7.5 earthquake there. it's been downgraded to a tsunami advisory. they have seen a mass wave action from the tsunami advisory of 2.3 feet at sandpoint and we do want to underscore there is no threat to the west coast from this. we will be back with more on the wind and the problem i'm seeing with the current weather pattern. i will see you in about 18 m
