i love new orleans. i've only been there once i've read a lot about their history and i'm not arguing to get rid of, not by a longshot. it's kind of a strange place it's a softer undersea water in a coastal region. and it was very disturbing at the end of the book when i'm finishing up the research to discover that the army corps of engineers after spending tens of billions of dollars in the wake of katrina to shore up a levee system, to build on the largest pumps in the universe. i'm basically to protect new orleans or another category three hurricane. we learned that because of subsidence and some of the construction decisions that were made, that new levee system does vary is not going to for the level of protection that it was built. so now that got to make some hard decisions about what to do in the future. whether to invest more money to make sure new orleans is adequately protected. it's a natural disaster you cannot get rid of a natural component. it is compounded by the decisions we make at ever

we will see most of the area here as the storm moves up towards new orleans begin to go downhill when it comes to their weather. about 5:00 this afternoon, new orleans, you're going to see the worst weather you're going to see all day. somewhere between 90 and 100-mile-per-hour wind gusts, even lake pontchartrain, three, four feet. and then it moves and gets closer to biloxi and gulfport and even dolphin island. that is the area that will see a problem with surge. there will be some places with nine feet of saltwater storm surge. we will see a lot of flooding. this storm is moving quickly guys, it will continue all the way up to montgomery by midnight. we're not going to lose a lot of steam or energy or wind. still going to be 60-mile-per-hour storm over montgomery and likely 60 miles an hour over atlanta. and the leaves and power lines will come down as well. this will be one to watch, and closest direct hit to new orleans than we've had all year. >> coming later this afternoon, sounds like, chad. thank you very much for tracking that. >>> meanwhile, a coronavirus scare in the middle
