and then there is that red flag advisory for the northbay mountains, not because we will see red flag conditions in the communities of the northbay, but just a few spots are going to at least briefly see that combination of very low humidity and gusty wind, especially on the mountain tops and ridge tops. tomorrow we get a little break, the red flag warning expires at 8 am and the next one goes into effect at 10:00 tomorrow evening. tomorrow night into thursday evening, that's where we will see numbers on a more widespread basis. in some higher numbers outside of the most densely populated parts of the northbay, with similar conditions in the east bay as well and another round of dangerous fire weather conditions by thursday night into early friday morning. so it will be like this until we get some rain, and that will not happen anytime soon. temperatures have dipped down into the 50s in the city, elsewhere we are in the low to mid 60s but skies are clear, so if you want to look to the southeast and get a glimpse at the meteor shower, that's the direction you have to look. anywhere fro

it is for the northbay hills, east bay hills. down to the diablo range and towards the santa cruz mountains for very dry, dusty conditions. it has been breezy and windy out there. that is expected to die down into the afternoon. here is a look at with the heat adviser is. you can see widespread from the coast around the bay and inlet and it goes until 9:00 with widespread mid-to upper 80s along the coastline and we are looking at mid-to upper 90s for inland communities. here is a look at what we're seeing. even half moon bay checking in at 90 degrees right now. over areas of san francisco and the downtown area. we have the east bay with upper 80s from oakland to livermore and to the northbay we have 91 degrees at this hour in areas over napa. how much warmer armor weight than yesterday? for most, a few degrees. half moon bay 13 degrees warmer than yesterday. you are definitely noticing the difference. san jose coming in a few degrees cooler. we will continue to heat up as we get into the afternoon. or the second part of the after

the inner east bay is 68 and in the northbay, 74 over areas of santa rosa as well as napa. when it comes to the winds, by 5:00 in the afternoon, we begin to see a little bit of a shift. even in north westerly flow and relative humidity remaining quite dry. if you take a look new areas of livermore we have a 7% relative humidity projection and over areas of the northbay, 6% near spanish flat. even vacaville at 5% and towards the santa cruz mountains a little better and along the coastline we begin to see an increase in the moisture. as we get into 26, the red flag warning lasting until tuesday afternoon. stopping it for you write about 7:00 in the evening and we are beginning to see better relative humidity. over livermore is now 37%. over the east foothills in the south bay 35%. the winds are dying down and we will remain dry for the next 24 hours or so. by tomorrow late in the day and into the overnight hours, we will see better recovery when it comes to relative humidity. we will call for breezy windy monday. red flag warning in place across portions of the bay area, espe

is a check at the timing once again, little bit of an earlier start for the northbay hills and east bay where we could have winds gusting from 50 to 70 miles an hour for the rest of the bay area. they can be testing an average to 40 to 50 miles an hour. that's at least a warning from 8:00 p.m. sunday to 11:00 a.m. tuesday. sunday morning, not too bad. and into the afternoon hours on sunday we will pump up the wind speeds and the strong winds we were really concerned with. this is sunday at 9:00 p.m. , very strong. keep in mind what the elevations the values will be going up quite a bit. then on monday we will scale back on the wind speeds. also, this is a very dry weather pattern. will take this into your sunday. look at the predicted values here, 7%, single digits, that's 11:00 p.m. on sunday and the timing is horrible because that is when the strong winds are moving to the area as well. so we have had red flag warning's of the past few weeks, but this is on a different level. >> those winds, no joke. think is a much. be sure to have the ktvu mobile app handy on your phone this weekend

red flag warning continues through the northbay mountains the wind is not that strong now and is not going to get that strong gusts up to around 30 miles per hour but the community is very low but fire fuels are crispy at this point because it's been so long since we have seen any measurable rainfall and those factors have for the national weather service on edge. let's take a look at the fire with her index you can see a lot of ones and twos on the map and even at the peak of the fire threat early tomorrow morning the computer does not think there is going to be much of a fire threat. another red flag warning goes into effect tomorrow night that starts at the clock in the evening and already by midnight were starting to see some twos and threes and that's going to go up even more, the peak of this first fire threat is by thursday morning and you can see that we're more than halfway up the skill with some pockets further up to around seven or eight outside of communities in the northbay, that's going to be the timeframe that we have to keep an eye on for any fires to spread rapidly.

let's take a look outside despite cooler temperatures today the northbay is bracing for fire danger. dry conditions and gusty wind is expected this week. our meteorologist has your weather watch. >> that's right. tracking the return of offshore wind and high fire danger. in the meantime looking at the onshore flow here is a look at the camera. you can see the fog still out there. looking at temperatures that are cooler. we are looking at thames in the 60s and 70s at this hour. we are looking at temperatures as we go through our day. about five degrees cooler compared to yesterday. mid-sixties san francisco and oce oakland. 73 santa rosa. eight degrees cooler compared yesterday at this time. we will be in the 80s inland and low to mid 70s around the bay and mid-sixties for the coast. as we look to tonight, tomorrow, wednesday, tomorrow morning we will see the return of the offshore wind flow. that does mean and extreme fire danger. that whether watch is upgraded to a red flag warning for the northbay mountains that kicks in tonight at 11:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. wednesday. for the east

with a red flag warning for the northbay hills and east bay hills. lots of 60s to start off the day. it's reflected in the forecast model. we begin our cooling trend tomorrow with lots of 80s. the low to mid 90s about 4:00 p.m. the cooling trend begins tomorrow. this area of high pressure begins to lose its grip in response to more activity towards the north. the offshore flow has been kicking in. we'll see more of an onshore breeze and that'll take the temperatures down by sunday. we are looking long-range and it looks like it's going to keep us dry into the next week. we could see the change, but we have to wait quite a ways for the change to possibly develop. lots of sunshine and heat advisory is gone. the red flag warning expires tomorrow morning at 6:00 p.m. 80s and 90s and upper 70s near the coastline. san jose will go 90. in the santa clara valley. temperatures will tread back and collect monday. looks like the dry pattern is here to stay, but some of the forecast models are hinting some rainfall as we flipped the calendar to november. we will

. >> a red flag warning is in effect until tomorrow in the santa cruz mountains, the northbay mountains and the east bay hills. meteorologist bill is here now tracking it for us. >> still windy but nothing like last night's winds. 89 miles per hour on st. helena. the thing to look at his what is going on on mount st. helena today. the hour before it reported at 42 miles per hour, virtually half the wind speed tonight compared to last night. it seems like good news to me. it is still windy, the red flag warning is still there but the wind is not as bad. we look at the wind model that tells you everything, after midnight things cool off and you see at 2 am they start to fire up, it is not as aggressive on the central and south bay as it was last night. mostly in the northeast quadrant and by 9 am it is gone. some really positive news, we are not out of the woods on this thing but if we can get through noon tomorrow with what we are seeing outside now with some of the current wind speeds i am feeling good. hopefully it will stay that way . when i come back we will look at the forecast that
