people in agriculture are used to dealing with the challenges. i call them the four m's, mother nature, markets, mandates, they deal with migration and lack of labor. but they are always pivoting to get over those hurdles. it's that risk taking attitude that allows them not just to survive but succeed. now there are other forces in play in rural america. with large corporate farms squeezing owl the family owned farms. chain stores pricing out mom and pop stores. with the lack of rural broadband and lack of health care options and sharippinging number of rural hospitals. it's no wonder why in many parts of rural america there is a sense of desperation leading to a ridiculously high rate of suicides and a vacuum that can be filled with the vilifications of certain political parties. unfortunately this has not led to that type of vilification but also a lack of faith in how the congress and government can help them. it's time to do what chairman peterson has always said they should do. time for us to do more for those who aren't from rural districts
