>> well, alisyn, investigators are still working at the scene, several blocks away from us. but yesterday in this spot, investigators named anthony quinn warner as the suspect. the u.s. attorney for the middle district of tennessee said he was here when the bomb went off and died in the explosion. this is a relatively fast process to get him identified. they used fragments of the rv and the blast to get a vehicle identification number, to trace back to the owner. they also found human tissue that was quickly processed at quanti quantico along with other dna samples. police released late last night that new video of the blast. that orange glow and those harrowing moments. and you also see an officer in that video walking away from it in the seconds right before. that's officer james wells. here's what he said about that. >> you watch the video, you can see that moment of clarity for me, when i heard the guy say, go and check on him. so i was peeking around, looking like this and this. no, do around and go check on -- so i turn around and start walking in the opposite directio

when we look at these models, because i was with you on this, alisyn. you kind of hope that the numbers are going to come down at some point and there's no specific reason or mitigation measure that would make that happen. when you look at the models, the numbers that we've been constantly talking about have been sort of the scenario based on all of these triggers that go into effect. if you look at the imhe model, they basically said, when you get to 8 in a million people dying in this country every day, which is around 24 to 2,500 people dying, that basically most states at that point would start to put in significant mission measures. mask mandates, public gathering reductions, certain business closures, things like that. that was the expectation. they said that would happen. and it's not happening. so when we start to look at these numbers now, we get to start understanding that we may be dealing with the more worst-case scenario. and if you look at the worst-case scenario, they're saying over 5,000 people dying for day in some of those scenarios, i

it was such a whiplash day yesterday, i've got to tell you, alisyn. for so long, i've been wanting and looking forward to reporting the emergency use authorization of a vaccine. i did not think that we would be having that discussion this year, frankly. i had resigned myself to thinking this would be early spring, whatever, of next year. and at the same time, as you point out, these death tolls, i do think it's an anomaly. when you look at the trajectories overall, we're 15 days after thanksgiving, just about two weeks before christmas. we're in this tough, tough peri peri period. i think the vaccine will have an impact on death rate initially, but for the next couple of months, we won't see those exact impacts. the numbers will continue to go up. if you look at the imhe models, 5,000 people dying per day when you get to the end of december, early january time frame. and the big question right now isn't so much if we can reduce the ample attitude of the peak. i think these numbers are going up. all of them, number of people being infected, the number

>> yeah, no, alisyn, this is -- this is -- you know, again, pretty disheartening. if you look at average -- cardiac deaths, cardiac disease still has been the number one killer in the united states, around 600,000 men and women alike die of heart disease every year, it's roughly close to between 10,000 and 11,000 per week on average. what we know now that this past week at least covid surpassed that weekly average of cardiac deaths in this country. so as things stand right now covid is the number one cause of death this week, who knows how that's going to go. we know that cardiac deaths as a whole have been coming down between over the last few years, whereas we know for the next few months, probably, covid deaths next couple months covid deaths will continue to go up. so, you know, no one could have believed that, a disease that didn't even exist a year ago is now quickly becoming the number one cause of death in this country. >> oh, my gosh. >> it's appalling. it's appalling because it didn't need to happen and hasn't happened in other countries. i will tell you
