meteorologist kari hall tracking the current conditions. good morning to you, kari. >> good morning. we just had a wind gust of 81 miles per hour near clayton. these winds are really gusting this morning and it's coming along with some warm temperatures. we were all out over the weekend like wow, this is pretty nice but in the back of your mind, you have to think, okay, it's not supposed to be this warm and then when we look at where we're headed for today and the record high temperatures, back in 2014, we had some really high temperatures, but remember, we were in the middle of a very bad drought, and so we are approaching that once again as these temperatures reach into the mid-70s for to the record high today is 69 degrees, but we're looking at a high of about 75 today. in san francisco the record is 70 but we're looking at low 70s here as well. oakland, look at that, 76 degrees is what we're expecting today but the record is just 67 degrees, and normal is about 58 degrees this time of year, we're usually getting some rain and much coole

now we'll send it over to meteorologist kari hall. kari? >> bob, you were talking about those big waves. those have been driven by the storms off the coast. we also have king tides, which is a higher gravitational pull due to the alignment of the sun, the moon and the earth. so we're actually during the winter months closer to the sun and it's also the way they are aligned, it's pulling up that water and making it come further to the inland areas. we will see those king tides moving in for the coastal areas between late morning as well as again tomorrow morning right before noon. now today we're still looking at those big breakers coming in, but we also have these long periods of swells. that means you have a wave that comes up, but it takes several seconds before the next wave comes up. so you're drawn further out into the ocean. you may get also caught up in a rip current that could pull you under as well. some of those sneaker waves means one of the waves comes up higher than the other ones, so you need to stay well away from the coastli
