upper 50s into the north bay. you can see monday evening, rain showers on the increase, so i think the main event will be 11:00 on monday night, the 7:00 a.m. on tuesday, a faster moving system that'll hang up a little longer over the north bay. in terms of bay area rainfall totals, we continue to have higher totals off to the north, most bay area locations, quarter inch or half an inch of rain where i do think we'll see higher numbers. sonoma county and up along the north coast, those locations we can see two or three inches o f rain. we'll see the brunt of the storm. you just saw that video from sugar bowl looking good for more snow and again another two feet expected to come down. another two feet of snow. after that tuesday shower activity moves out, we'll stay dry until next saturday. if you like snow and not just sierra snow, look at what's coming our way? february 8th, a colder pattern sets up, much cooler temperatures and another chance of snow levels. tomorrow few showers early in the day, the mane event

it is because of the weather system to the north and the north bay. you're a bit closer to the weather system. we're starting off with the clouds and the temperatures in the 40s to the 50s. so not as cold as yesterday morning. taking you hour by hour on futurecast, here we are at noon, you can see the clouds across the region and the showers for the far north bay. the highs in the mid- to upper 50 and low 60s. let's look at that traffic delay in the north bay this morning. >>> they shut down the lanes once again because they're clearing the debris out of the ready way. this is kelly and around broadway street. that is where they got the closure in effect. expect delays in and around that area. chp repping american canyon as an alternate. and the green valley onramp also closed in that area. so this is due to a crash involving a big rig that flipped on its side. this is the bay bridge. this the first time in 2021 that they turned the meter lights on. we're starting to see a backup on the 880 overpass. i'll have more details on this in my next report. >

north bay mountains. 95-mile an hour gusts in the north bay mountains. that says so much about how strong these winds are. what makes this wind event a little different is that it's able to take the winds. they are usually stronger and bring them down to the lower elevations so we are feeling some of it. take a look at concord, livermore, all gusting morning. let me get the map up search and show you as many locations as i can. these are the right now guests. in the 30-mile an hour range. you will have a period where the wind will seemingly out of nowhere pick up. then it'll start to come back down. you may have periods where it turns off for a little bit of time. between nine and 11, expect the intensity will pick up. with realmost at the worst of this now. it gets a little stronger through the late morning and then in to the afternoon it'll start to die back. look at the brighter colors. closer are you to the mountain. the 90-mile an hour gusts or 70- mile an hour gusts on mount diablo. some of that energy gets pulled down the slopes. if you happen to

it's moving into the north bay. it kind of hangs out there for an hour to kind of slowly marching towards the central bay. we're now into 10 o'clock and then as we get into midnight, it's moving into the south bay. and then as we get into one o'clock, two o'clock, it does begin to move out. so the heaviest rain expected between eight o'clock in the north bay about midnight in the south bay as it makes a slow move across the bay area, as far as the winds will also correspond with that. heaviest rain. take a look at the wind forecast. there we are right now, as we get into tonight we're now looking at eight o'clock 40 to 50 mile per hour winds expected into the evening hours, and that's when we will see the wind advisory so better details on the wind advisory snow in the sierra and of course for keeping track of the current conditions coming up in just a bit. rosemary thank you. all right. here comes that first major winter storm of the year and tahoe is expected to get hit hard. we're going to go live to the sierra n

in the north bay and eventually around lunchtime some of the heavier showers will move to the north bay by mid afternoon. look how the showers have started to move out of the bay area. the top area for rainfall will most likely be the north bay. our micro climate weather alert for rain totals hatlf an inch a inch. the hills may see 1 to 2 inches of rain. santa clara valley has a shadow. more on the santa cruz mountains, tri-valley not getting a whole lot. bay area average about a third of an inch to a quarter inch south of san francisco. but look at these wind gusts, you'll see this mid-morning through midday. a potential for 20 to 40 mile per hour wind gusts as that cold front races through right around lunchtime. then decreasing wind as we head into the evening. so beyond this storm, another one dropping in on wednesday. probably not going to pack as much wind or rain. and then a follow-up storm for friday, so just every other day this week for the workweek we've got the rain coming on through. that next storm, though, for next weekend for now looks like that's going to bypass us to t

first it does include the entire north bay. it includes our east bay hills and the santa cruz mountains as well as parts of the coastal range. it starts in later today goes all the way until thursday afternoon. so again we're looking at a few days with this. not just today. here's a look at the wind advisory for the entire bay area. this one will start at seven o'clock this evening and will expire are set to expire tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. the high wind warning for the coast, including san francisco goes until tonight. morrow morning as well so we could see anywhere from gust of 50 55 mph around the bay and along the coastline could be 60 to 70 mph at times so damaging winds will be a possibility and into the sierra. there's a winter storm warning that starts this afternoon goes all the way to friday early morning again for several feet of snow expected at several several areas, you could go all the way down to 2000 ft. and see some snow he get into the higher elevations right around blue canyon because several feet of snow.

potential across the north bay for thunderstorms. while the heaviest and steadiest of the rain is over we're going to have showers and potential thunderstorms rotate across our neighborhoods, not only today but also tomorrow. the best chance of thunderstorms today. but waves of showers with downpours likely are going to continue today and tomorrow. and that is why we're a 2, moderate on the storm impact scale. a look at san jose where you can see it is definitely wet. 101 and 880. about 55 hundredths. you got rain shadowed. you received the least amount of rain. nearly 2 1/2 inches in san rafael. one of our highest tolds. the winds are gone. this is the best best. and it is going to be chilly and when showers hit they could cause localized flooding. downpours and small hail. expect that all the way from 7:00 this morning to at least 7:00 this evening. a look at future radar comingen u. here is reggie. >>> mike thank you, the storm's knocked out power to tens of thousands around the bay area and jobina is looking at that power outage

right over the city, the north bay and the closer you get to the delta, places like napa. and we will probably do it again tomorrow. the next few mornings we will probably see patchy fog. morning lows are fine, staying right around 40, 33 in santa rosa. and look at the pacific, the storms are still going. this is why we still have high surf warnings. there's a lot of energy in the pacific, and we have been benefiting from some of that with the storms coming our way. but watch what happens over the next several runs. one storm goes too far north, the next one goes too far north and we will miss out on these. tomorrow, early in the morning, look how close we will come. here's five in the morning, and then again close to nine, there are a few showers off the coast but they fall apart before getting here. so there is one missed opportunity, we will probably do that again on tuesday, another close call, another missed opportunity, close but no cigar. if we look at rainfall totals, it is possible we may notice a sprinkle on sunday morning in the north bay. then watch what happen
