how close is the rest of the bay area to reopening. more bay area counties could be moving into the red tier. let's start with san francisco. the city's health department says it expects to move into the red tier next week. this graph shows the number of covid cases per 100,000 people in san francisco, in order to move into the red tier, this number needs to be below seven for two weeks in a row. look at the peak of the surge, about 19 right there. but today we are down to five, which is below the seven mark. san francisco qualifies for the red tier which could happen next tuesday. a similar case in santa clara county. look at that right there, we are talking 33. this is, again, 40,000 per 100, excuse me, 40 per 100,000 people. look at it now, though, we are down to 6.7. once again, below the seven mark to get in the red tier. santa clara county could also move into the red tier. one more important note here. if these counties move into the red tier next week, county health leaders still have to sign off and agree to allow more busines

it is a beautiful day across the bay area with that sunshine. hopefully you can get out and enjoy it. we are looking at temperatures a little bit warmer compared to yesterday at this time, a gorgeous view looking at san francisco and across the bay with blue skies out there. right now we are looking at temps that are in the mid to upper 50s, 59 concord, oakland 53, 56 livermore, san francisco, san jose 58, 54 santa rosa. the 24 hour temperature change in many locations anywhere from one to five degrees warmer compared to yesterday at this time. are the this dry weather pattern is taking over the bay area with the strong ridge in place. this ridge is building as we head through the next few days. plenty sun for the rest of our afternoon, and that will continue friday and into the weekend. in fact, a warming trend is in store for us. as we look to the weekend with that strong high, dominant weather feature for bay area, we are going to warm up for the weekend. all of us will be in the 60s for our weekend for saturday and sunday. sun set by the way
