the governor of florida, - places? it is interesting. the governor of florida, ron - places? it is interesting. the - governor of florida, ron desantis, has been a big ally of donald trump and his approach has been in the mould of the former president when it comes to coronavirus. he lifted restrictions on the state around coronavirus last september, and refused to institute state—wide mask mandates. last month he was praising his state approach, and said that they have had no lockdown mandates, he has instituted this executive order which basically gets around restrictions brought in by local governments, finds that they had implemented around coronavirus restrictions. but i think what is interesting is that there has been a bit of soul—searching, comparing the impact of coronavirus in places like florida to states like california, which is a democratic run state. ron desantis is a republican, and they have had much harsher conditions but, when you look at their caseload per 100,000, they are not that different. again if you look at death rates, obviously, it is terrible
