but yes you're right the columbus police department has been releasing videos the last few days. recently thursday. that was simply a police dash cam footage from a cruiser arriving a few moments after the incident took place. it doesn't shed new light on what took place tuesday afternoon. really the most important set of videos that have been put out by the columbus police department are the ones they put out tuesday night about five and a half hours after the initial incident, both normal speed video and slow motion video where you can see what took place. in contrast to what we hear from brian todd in north carolina there has been a completely different approach to a situation like this by the columbus pd. we are hearing from the police department and from the chief, and the mayor of columbus it's important to put out as much information to the public as quickly as possible with so that the public demanding answers in a case like this can get them. that's what we are seeing from columbus police, even if the most recent videos don't add much to the understanding, it's part of t

they want the school to cut ties with the columbus police department. a large crowd marched to the ohio state house last night demanding justice for the teenager's family. nancy chen is tracking the latest. >> reporter: columbus, ohio, officials have released new body camera video showing the moments leading up to ma'khia bryant's death. >> what's going on? >> reporter: in the footage, the 16-year-old appears to be holding a knife as she chases someone. another girl falls to the ground before four shots ring out. >> the video shows that there is more to this. it requires us to pause, take a close look at the sequence of events, and though it's not easy, wait for the facts. >> he attacked a baby. >> reporter: the officers were responding to a 911 caller who said someone was trying to stab them. >> over here trying to fight us. trying to stab us. >> reporter: officers performed cpr, but bryant died a short time later. people are upset in columbus because this has happened multiple times over the years. in fact, 20 years ago, the clinton administration sued the city for civil rights violations so the relationship between police and the community here has been under the microscope for that time. there's been more recent incidents that led to the police chief resigning back in january. i asked one of the organizers of one of today's marches what she hoped the world would hear from these protests. >> i hope that we can get that eventually. i hope that they hear us out and you know, maybe step in our shoes a little bit and see where we're coming from as not only african-americans but there's caucasians out here, mexicans, any race out here and it's just like, we all are just trying to have a change, not only for us but police too. we care about them. we don't want any problems with them. but when you only show us one side of how you work, you know your career, what you're doing, we can only look at you in one way. >> reporter: day five of protests on a rainy day here in columbus, ohio, y
