kpix 5 was in alameda with the video and a warning. it is graphic. >> what's your name? >> reporter: the incident happened on april 19th. the officer initially approached mario gonzalez, asking him if he was okay. in the video, gonzales was incoherent at times, hesitating to give officers his name. they talked to him for about 10 minutes before they tried to put his hands behind his back. he resists for several minutes before officers take him to the ground as gonzales continues to struggle. one officer positions his body over gonzales at times, but from the video it's hard to say how much weight was used . then after about five more minutes, gonzales loses consciousness. >> everybody can watch the video and make certain judgments, but we have to be careful because it's only one part of the story. >> the family held a press conference today. gonzales's brother, jerry, says what the police did was unnecessary and unprofessional and took what was a minuscule event and made it fatal. >> the police department, alameda police department lied to me. they said my son is fightin
