ukiah, you are at 100. most of us are done with the heat advisories. ukiah is not. look at the map, that shows you how different the temperatures are from where we were yesterday at this time, compared to now. and the inland valleys show a significant cooldown. unfortunately we still have part of the map that has a heat advisory on it. this is up along clearlake, give us until this evening, you shouldn't have another one tomorrow. we just saw this on the map. there is a good spread with temperatures ranging. it is back in full force along the coast. that is what june should look like. if we come in for a close-up view, it has steadily been going over the berkeley hills, developing all day. it has been really limited. overnight it grows, and will expand a little bit more. we may even wake up with low- grade clouds. morning literatures are still comfortable. we will be back into the upper 50s in most spots. cooler than you have had, but nothing bad by any means. this is the best image of the day, for the daytime highs tomorrow. lower 80s as you get down into the south

and, yeah, that's not a typo, 96 degrees in ukiah today. much hotter for those interior valleys. but we are getting a nice serie later on tonight, we will be in the upper 50s, and then seeing those temperatures cool off with more clouds moving in. we've had a strong ocean breeze, but things are changing. and it's really going to ramp up the temperatures across much of the pacific northwest. we're going to be on the outer fringes in this. so we're not expecting it to be as hot as what they're going to see in spots like portland and seattle. let me show you what i'm talking about. these are tomorrow's high temperatures. take a look at portland. this could set an all-time record temperature for portland. it's not supposed to be that hot. and in seattle reaching 99 degrees. only twice have they hit 100 degrees so it's going to be very close. and portland compared to las vegas, 106 for vegas so it's even going to be hotter in portland than what we will see there because of that heat dome. we're going to be watching to see that intense heat, but it's still going to be warm. livermore g

ukiah and bear lake are still at 100. but for everyone else, tomorrow is noticeably better. watch what happens tomorrow morning. we do pull in a little bit of marine layer. it pretty much just comes into this immediate stretch through the golden gate, toward richmond, and berkeley, and that should be about it. everyone else should have sunshine at 7:00 am. early in the afternoon, we are just going to clear it out. morning low temperatures stay pretty mild. santa rosa is normally the cold spot. you are only going down to 51 degrees. there are a lot of middle 80s in the south bay. this is not that dramatically different from today. if you had access to the bay whether, you had a mild day with temperatures in the 80s. here is where it is going to be really different tomorrow. these numbers were right around the 100s today. we are talking about the tri- valley, san ramon valley, the 680 corridor, this is where numbers come down to 15 degrees tomorrow. you look in the bay, similar to today, we already had a nice cool day with the onshore, and the clouds. here is where we still ha

and look at how hot it's going to be in ukiah and clear lake. these temperatures coming up to the upper 90s while napa will reach a high of 91 degrees. so we've seen these daily thunderstorms firing up over the sierra, parts of the desert southwest. but unfortunately it's also sparking up some lightning strikes, and we don't get a lot of rain with those thunderstorms, there could be some new fire starts. so there is a lot of red flag warnings up from the sierra over toward nevada, and that high pressure will continue to pump in some of that monsoonal moisture as we go into the next several days. so just a heads up that if you will be going to the sierra, there will be a chance of thunderstorms and all of this coming along with our exceptional drought that we're seeing across the region. it's good to see some rain, especially for areas across nevada and arizona as well as new mexico. but you can see how extreme the drought is and most likely that rain is not going to help us out. in fact, the thunderstorms and the lightning is going to cause more

our north bay temperatures anywhere from 78 in mill valley to 95 in ukiah. that was about the same temperatures we had yesterday farther to the north. we've been watching the pacific northwest to see how it's going for our friends in portland and seattle. it's coming down a little bit, but it's still pretty warm but we're not talking about another day of triple-digit heat for them. we're going to see across the region high pressure building and it's going to pump in some monsoonal moisture across the desert southwest and fire up thunderstorms over the sierra and we'll be keeping an eye on that. mike, how is it looking for the commute? >> the commute meets with marcus' approval. a little slowing. marcus can deal with that a little bit. over here we have to deal with the folks making their way to the bay bridge or also as you go down towards the maze. the maps we have slowing there. a build and more slowing ornts incline. i-80 westbound at treasure island only affecting the on ramp. the speed across the span looking fine already. the build is at the incline no

our north bay temperatures will range from the mid-60s in mill valley to 88 degrees in ukiah. there will still be the microclimates in full effect, and showers and thunderstorms will pop up over the sierra especially on the eastern side of the sierra. it's not good because we have also seen lightning strikes, and when there's just a little rain or no rain and we have lightning that could spark wildfires. we will be watching that today. the system that kept us cool will be moving out and we will see that replaced by high pressure. across the region it's referred to as a heat dome, especially across the pacific northwest where it will intensify the heat and it could affect the olympic trials this weekend, especially oing to reach over 100 degrees. they are definitelyf heat. record breaking, possibly setting all-time high temperature records, while they get that kind of heat, it will heat up more in the bay area for inland valleys, and we're not going to see the intense heat in san francisco. we're mostly looking at upper 60s to low 70s into next week. now let's turn to our clima

it could be as hot as 97 today in ukiah. compare that to the 79 we'll see in santa rosa, with a northwesterly wind in san francisco, staying in the 60s today, oakland reaching 69 degree. we're going to see a wide range in temperatures and that will continue this weekend especially as the ocean breeze we've been getting replaced by some high pressure. this is going to ramp up the temperatures especially for the pacific northwest. historic heat here with some of those spots like portland, oregon, reaching over 100 degrees. going to be watching that in the headlines over the next few days as they could possibly get the hottest temperature they've ever had. we're going to warm up just a little bit and we'll reach into the upper 80s and low 90s for the inland valleys into next week. what's going on with the commute? >> the bay bridge, the crash, quickly clearing or at least slowly clearing i guess. slow roller reported getting that crash off at harrison street. i believe it cleared. speeds are improving across the span. it was no

the north bay we will see our highs reaching into the upper 70s for sonoma, and then upper 80s for ukiah. as we go through the forecast we are going to see the potential across the region for showers and thunderstorms. look what is happen be over in the sierra. on the eastern side of the sierra we are seeing thunderstorms and lightning popping up and that's not good news because there has not been a lot of rain to go along with that, and this surge because of monsoonal moisture in the system. and aside the lightning and the storms we are seeing, just to the east will be the heat building across the region, especially on saturday into sunday. it's going to be hot for our inland areas, but this big dome of high pressure will be to our north and that's where we could see some records set. it's going to be something making headlines, especially for portland and seattle where temperatures could be well over 100 degrees, and we know that they don't have a lot of air-conditioning in some of those areas and not used to this kind of heat. we're going to have some hot temperatures but not as hot a

we'll see upper 90s for clearlake and ukiah. you can see the wide-ranging temperatures we'll have today and we're expecting more of the same tomorrow. not all of the bay area will be heating up but we'll be from 101 in clearlake for tomorrow afternoon to 79 in freemont and 85 in san jose and then some upper 60s for half moon bay. so there will be quite a range there as we see this heat dome across the pacific northwest bring those extreme temperatures and it's going to start to back off and move over towards the desert southwest and we're in for normal weather as we go into the rest of the week. just a couple days of some hot temperatures and saying thank goodness we are not in portland. 115 degrees today, but we know with climate change that we can see more extreme heat events like this and who knows, by the -- some time in the summer we could be seeing some of the same temperatures. it looks fairly good all week long. heading through the fourth of july with highs in the mid 80s. mike, what's going on with the morning commute?

while ukiah will reach a high of 98 degrees. once again, talking about that pacific northwest heat, it's still going to be hot today reaching 96 in portland, that's just a few degrees lower than las vegas today and seattle reaching 88, but we are seeing the heat easing up after all of those days of the triple-digit temperatures. for us we're going to see more of our same weather pattern but a surge of monsoonal moisture and if you are going to tahoe this weekend there will be a chance of thunderstorms there. we'll have to watch that closely. no major changes here as we go into the fourth of july weekend, just a little bit cooler with highs in the mid 80s for the inland areas and some upper 60s for san francisco. mike, any problems now for the morning commute? >> yes. in fact, ben our controller, ben and ken, showing us left and right we have an issue, east bay 80 from the bay bridge. the overcross, the pedestrian path actually over there and we're looking at the problem. that's why everybody is funneling down and slowing here. i

but mostly in the 60s, that fog will clear out and for the north bay it's going to be hot, reaching ukiah. as we go through the forecast we've been watching these hot temperatures across the region. i wanted to show you that it's still going to be hot in portland today. they're coming out of the triple digits after setting an all-time record high yesterday at 116 degrees there. it looks like the heat is backing off just a little bit today, but still pretty unbearable after several days of those extreme temperatures. we're going to see our typical weather pattern but there will be a surge of monsoon al moisture. planning to head to the sierra for the fourth of july weekend we have to watch this because there may be thunderstorms popping up in that area. not too much of an impact here in the bay area. our temperatures stits hot today and coming down tomorrow into the upper 80s with our inland areas and warmest spots, mid 80s through the end of the week and the fourth of july forecast looking nice. while the fog lingers near the s here in the 60s and each and every morning we'll see that fog

the city gets its water exclusively from lake mendocino, northeast of ukiah, and it is in a world of hurt. at the percent of capacity, the boat ramp is far from the water's edge and fishermen have quite a hike to get to anything resembling moisture. >> i want to say within the last month, it has gotten a couple of feet, you know, and it is a big drought, real quick. we make it feeds the upper russian river and now the state has ordered healdsburg to cut use by an overall 40% and that may just be the start because clear back in april, the water districts general manager warned what could be coming. >> with no additional rain, and continued consumption, from water uses downstream oma we anticipate the very real possibility of not being able to release water from this reservoir by fall. >> reporter: that would leave them with no water at all. what happens when a city runs out of water? it is a scary scenario, one residents are only now coming to grips with. >> we have got the notice and stuff like that, but i think we should be implementing a little harder. >> reporter: people are deali

, downtown reaching 66 degrees and our north bay temperatures reaching 78 degrees in napa and 85 in ukiah. the seven-day forecast is already up at the bottom of the screen. i wanted to take you across what's happening across the region as we are seeing some monsoonal moisture bringing some rain even in southern california. this is really great to see, but unfortunately there may be some thunderstorms in there as well as some lightning. and we're going to see that continue for the next day or so. and then we are going to see a change in our weather pattern going from this cool ocean breeze in a thick marine layer to high pressure. it's going to change our wind direction and actually force that marine layer farther off the coast. we're not going to get our natural air-conditioning by the end of the weekend. as we take a look at our seven-day forecast for napa, we're in the 70s, low 80s through the end of the work week and then reaching into the 90s. and that heat's going to linger for a little while. seven days we're expecting temperatures to reach into the 90s in some of our warmest spots.

san francisco will reach into the 70s today and our north bay temperatures will reach up to 106 in ukiah and sonoma reaching 100 degrees. so as we go through this forecast, we know that it's going to get better each day but let me show you napa's forecast, even though it's today, we're in the upper 80s the rest of the weekend and we catch a break early next week, take a look at those high temperatures on tuesday, that's even hard to imagine, 73 degrees for a high on tuesday. we'll have a nice cooldown with upper 70s in the forecast and yes, this weekend is father's day, so make sure you take care of dad, at least give a phone call. mike, how is it looking for the morning commute? >> sometimes my kids text me from the other room in our house. trouble in the east bay. this is heading south on 880, the traffic alert and breaking news is that it's just the far right lane, slow lane the only lane open through union city and headed to the border with fremont. the backup starts at alvarado niles, just shy of alvarado boulevard. you can get around using dire but it only adds five to seven minute

advisories and excessive heat warning saturday through tuesday and look at the high temperatures tomorrow, ukiah, lakeport, clearlake all in triple digits. the hottest of the hot weather is even farther north, places that are not prepared for this kind of heat, temperatures tomorrow 111 in redding, 104 degrees in portland and that's not even the hot day in the forecast for them. it's going to get to 109 degrees in portland sunday. that's the new all time record high temperature for that city regardless of which date. seattle gets into the action on monday. their all time record is 103. they'll reach up to 105 degrees on monday. hopefully the heat starts to back off as we head into the middle of next week. back to the bay area's forecast, our temperatures are going to back off sunday and monday. that little storm system off the coast will crack the heatwave before it really even has a chance to get going. we return to the low 90s tuesday and wednesday, but that's not that hot for this time of year and around the bay and along the coast you won't notice a huge difference in temperatures even as th

, we're in the upper 50s near the coast but seeing mid-70s inland toward britwood and upper 70s for ukiah. clear lake, already 87 degrees there. so, yes, it's definitely warmer in some of those spots. if you're going to be heading out for a hike in the south bay, it's all clear and sunny and our temperatures are going from the low 70s to the upper 70s by 1:00 and then some low 80s today. of course i always advise, hey, avoid the warmest times of the day, but it's not too bad for this afternoon as we reach up to 82 degrees in san jose, 86 in east san jose, and 85 in morgan hill. for the east bay, we're also seeing a range in temperatures anywhere from 85 in antioch to 83 in vallejo and in oakland today, looking at some low 70s while hayward will reach 75 degrees. near the coast, we have some upper 60s in spots like daly city, but half moon bay, 62 degrees is the high and in palo alto we're talking about low 80s here. san francisco mostly staying in the 60s from the eagleside district to marina. 65 degrees there. sonoma today will see a high of 81 degrees. you can see the changes that we'll
