henry lee ktvu fox studios. will the dixie fire continues to grow in butte and plumas county is forcing a new round of evacuations. cal fires as the fire jumped the containment lines last night, and it is now threatening the community of greenville in the plumas national forest. the dixie fire has burned nearly 395 square miles. it is 35% contained, those flames have destroyed 45 homes and businesses and is still threatening more than 3100 homes. pg and e. says it is working with the forest service to investigate whether a tree leaning on one of the utilities power lines sparked the so called fly fire. it eventually merged with the dixie fire in plumas counties. the genie said sensors detected an issue with a particular circuit on july 22nd 11 minutes after those alarms went off wildfire cameras recorded smoke coming from the area where that tree and the line were located. let's talk about what's happening here in the bay area, you can see sun behind us along the oakland estuary, but we're not getting any of tha

i'm andre senior ktvu. fox two news, air quality officials along with chevron hazmat crews are looking into a flaring incident at the refinery in richmond this afternoon. you could see flames coming out of two refinery stacks along with a large plume of smoke. it all started about 2 30 this afternoon. chevron says the safety flare was activated to burn off gas from a problem in the system. the bay area air quality management district send inspectors to check for any potential air quality violations. no shelter in place was issued a gas pipeline break that sparked a huge fireball in san francisco in 2019 is being blamed on unsafe work by a contractor. the ntsb says kill furred engineering was digging was digging to lay a fiber optic line on gary boulevard and parker avenue when a back hole hit a gas line. the fire damaged five buildings. incredibly no one was hurt, the federal investigation found that kill furred failed to follow safe practices for digging crews battling the dixie fire are now bracing for a

this is ktvu fox two news at noon and good afternoon number one. i'm mike mibach i'm gasia mikaelian and we have an update as to when light rail veta trains will be running again this comes three months since a mass shooting killed nine employees at the guadalupe light rail yard in san jose. ktvu elissa harrington live in our newsroom to bring us what we've just learned. alyssa garcia, the ceo and general manager said they are making significant progress some light rail trains will be back out as soon as this afternoon but those will be test runs only the vita is still working on inspecting track and platforms they are also in the process of retraining and re certifying employees so this week people can expect to see trains out there but this will be to test the track equipment and overhead lines once those are cleared. operators will run trains with supervisors and support staff and ceo said she wants to build a foundation where employees feel safe and supported returning to work so they are taking what she calls a trauma informed approach. it has
