chief meteorologist lawrence karnow with the hot weather that's coming through this weekend. i can see that now all the police arrive. come take your way. but certainly need to look at the beautiful side all the way toward the coastline now looking good, but. >> we are seeing a little patchy fog out there. hanging just off the water's edge and that will move in a little bit later on. temperature wise number still very nice. 74 degrees right now in fremont, 72 now in san jose just kind of a nice evening. you would you like to hang outside, maybe go for a walk 74 degrees and 7 tail 77 now in concord, 78 pittsburgh, 70 in a bottle and 74 degrees in san and sell even 81 in saint so these temperatures running warm and you know, we're going for tomorrow. looks that. couple patches of fog. you see hanging off the coastline there. a little more northerly component to the wind developing for tonight. that means a lot of sunshine coming our way. couple patches of fog may form right along the coastal section. but it's only going to be a thin lair and that will dissipate pretty quickly.

we do want to go to kron. 4 chief meteorologist lawrence karnow tracking the very latest. a wind that are being felt right now. that area. yeah. it's subside a little bit. that's the good news. we have some a gust over 30, even 36 miles per hour in that area. and firefighters will tell you that once those winds exceed about 40 miles an hour. so they just kind of back away. they don't try to stop the fire. they just try to save the people that might be involved and that kind of situation. we haven't reached that point tonight, but it's still a very, very active a very dangerous situation with those winds blowing over 18, even 20 miles an hour. >> in and around an active fire like put up here on the screen to you can see the areas shaded in red. that's actually where the red flag warning is located. this place is just outside of that. nonetheless, you get those winds that are blowing in that area and anywhere around the bay area and you get those nice dry grass fields while that thing can get a pretty explosive in a hurry. so people are evacuating. now. they're evacuating pe

a lot of people heading out of town back to the east bay chief meteorologist lawrence karnow here to talk about. >> yeah, guys. got a big weekend ahead. so many activities around the bay area. of course, fleet week. yeah, it's going to be quite the show. and i think the weather is going to cooperate, although there's one little system off the coast line. that's going to possibly bring a few showers. the bay area overnight tonight. but you sleep. and i think is long gone too far gone before the event takes definitely week looking good. the blue angels practice and out there today screaming out over the bay and looking beautiful up there tomorrow. you could be looking at mostly sunny skies. a very nice day. these temperatures which were a little bit cool today and it was brisk and breezy. well, we're going to see those numbers warming up, probably some upper 60's by tomorrow afternoon wouldn't be surprised if we even hit 70 degrees in downtown san francisco. there will be a bit of a sea breeze, though kicking in by the afternoon. if you're sticking around. i want to bring a light jacke

karnow has been tracking the winds in the weather. certainly a high fire danger lights. yeah, very scary this afternoon. i remember graham said, hey, we've got a fire going in american canyon. i thought, oh, no, not now. >> because this is one of those extreme nights where we can see fires like this just erupt so rapidly that they're extremely dangerous now we continue to see the winds in around american canyon everywhere is seeing some breezy conditions. the winds have backed off a little bit. that is good news and way to go to firefighters. they've already got this 50% contained. they got to get the rest of it, though. but look at the winds they blowing in excess of 3036 miles an hour. now backed off. and just this last hour, all the way down to 60 miles per hour. now that is still coming out of a north northwesterly wind that means the wind is going continue to blow fire in this direction. of course, you've got some train that it's working with in and around this area. fires tend like to run uphill if they can. of course, if you ge
