the house letter in the subpoena today to alex jones is really striking. i want to read a portion for our viewers. quote, as you have stated the white house told you, alex jones, on january 6th you were to lead a march to the capitol where president trump would meet the group. according to this house letter, trump was supposed to actually be at the capitol on january 6th. what they're doing is trying to seek information about that and about trump's presence on january 6th. that to me is a pretty striking news statement. >> very important that you identify that. it was, of course, known that donald trump claimed in public that day he would go to the capitol. he didn't. there's been much, much debate over how long it took him to say anything and the way he responded to what was a violent insurrection. is your supposition or interpretation that the committee must have additional evidence or documentation of that plan? >> yes, exactly. that's what it looks like. it looks like a lot of people were read into the plan. this wasn't just some sort of donald trump l

there's two big names in this group, alex jones and roger stone, two major conservative provocateurs, people that have been longtime supporters of the former president, donald trump, and of course played a big role in peddling the lies about the election that trump was the leader of. they also helped to raise money and convince people to come to washington on january 6th with the implicit goal of trying to interrupt the democratic process. but it's not just jones and stone. there are three other names. taylor bud vich. he's currently the spokesperson for the former president in his capacity outside of the white house. and then two other individuals, dustin stockton and jennifer lawrence. they are an engaged couple. they have been behind the scenes players in all of this, closely associated with steve bannon, also closely associated just on the outer ring of the trump campaign and the trump political effort. they had a lot to do with the organization, the raising of funds, and the spending of funds as it relates to those rallies on january 6th. there is a big question, though, as to ho

today what the connecticut supreme court determined was that because alex jones had engaged in a long series of misconduct in discovery abuses he prevented the plaintiffs from getting a fair hearing, the evidence and because of that forfeited the right to present evidence in the case. and as a result of that the allegations against him are considered proven and liable which include defamation, violations of connecticut's unfair trade act, distress and the question for the jury will be the extent to which the families that we're honored to represent were harmed by his conduct. >> how can you actually collect from him? does he have assets? >> well, you know, this case is not really about money. it is about accountability. and so our goal and when we get in front of that jury is to show them how devastating his conduct has become. now we have avenues to investigate his assets and his resources. but what's most important is that we get our day in court and that we expose alex jones for what he is. >> jones and his attorneys had years to turn over documents. do you have a sense of why they

alex jones, how helpful can he be? >> i think that's a fair and interesting point. i think if you're the committee, you need to seek the testimony from everybody you can. you don't prejudge their noncooperation because you nvr know what might happen. but some of these folks, i don't believe they can get documents from third parties. that involve him in k communications between him and the president and others. so i think you have to seek all this information and all this testimony. i don't know how much additional time it will take. at this it point they have a prelt easy process. that doesn't take a lot of effort and probably it's the case with respect to some of them, they are day deefiant andt invoke the fifth amendment right, you can have a quick vote if you think it's appropriate to be referred to the justice department for contempt of congress criminal charges, i don't know it wastes a lot of time. there's no way you go through this process without asking for testimony from it all those kinds of people. >> great insight as always. we appreciate it. thank you.
