i think it's hard to say right now what lessons the u.s. has to offer because there were a lot of stumbling blocks. as you said they reopened far too soon. there were people that have rejected all levels of authority. it's hard to say what lessons there are to be learned from the response. i will say something helpful as we saw how much the protective equipment worked because i was fascinated to see that none of them felt sick in the hospitals and those that did felt sick outside of the context of the hospital so the protective equipment was extremely effective and when it was asavailable it was useful and i think there was the fear in the early weeks there wouldn't be enough protective equipment but fortunately all the hospitals were able to get together enough to protect their own staff so that it jumped out as one of the key lessons. another one is the critical work of providing mental health and i heard that from so many frontline providers over the last year that there is so much trauma they are experiencing particularly in those that
