i am laura garcia. >> i am marcus washington. we have a lot of news ahead, including the breaking news that we will get to in just a bit. meteorologist, kari hall, is tracking the fog. >> this may slow you down as you are heading out for work. we are seeing visibility in the north bay very low, down to half a mile in santa rosa and even lower in some other spots. we have seen the fog coming through the delta, so expect it to be low around vallejo and fairfield as you are driving to work. this is the view across the golden gate bridge. we can see that here, but the fog could be dense in some spots. the temperatures stay on the low side because we will see peeks of sunshine later today. we have changes in the forecast, and we will track that with a look ahead coming up in a few minutes. >> kari, thank you. >>> breaking news this morning. the upcoming strike by kaiser pharmacists appears to be off this morning. pharmacists were staging a week-long strike starting today but kaiser and the union both tell nbc bay area have a tentative

. >> i am laura garcia. a message for families that san francisco is safe to visit. >> leaders will take another step in response to the wave of recent flash robberies. today in the bay's cierra johnson is live in san francisco explaining why the proposal stands. cierra? >> reporter: yeah, good morning. that proposal right now will be voted on by the members of that board. if approved it would add sheriff deputies off duty to protect the businesses, in turn protecting shoppers and the general public. this is what it means for the folks here in the city of san francisco. the legislation was introduced at the end of september and a vote is expected today. the deputies would be off duty and paid overtime by the businesses and not the city and they would be armed and wear their standard uniforms. that meeting is going to continue at 2:00 this afternoon. and we are learning more about one suspect union square smash and grabs. it's hard to forget the swarms of people running and stealing from the high-end storms,

i'm laura garcia. let's take a live look at the richmond san rafael bridge. we're in this microclimate weather alert right now. a bit of a wet morning around the bay area with the tail end of a an atmospheric river moving through. meteorologist kari hall is tracking the conditions for us. >> we've had some pretty decent rainfall totals in the north bay. mt. tam measuring over 3.5 inches of rain. in the santa cruz mountains, about 2.25. santa rosa approaching 2 inches of rain, while san francisco has had about 3/4 of an inch of rain, about a half inch in antioch. the rain has been very spotty. we'll continue to see light showers moving through some areas. that moisture streaming in and a lot of clouds with it. need the umbrella to be close by through at least noon, and then we'll start to see our rain chances going down. but we do once again still see the rain chances, especially in the north bay, but by 4:00 to 5:00, around sunset, we are drying out. and we have a lot of dry weather in the forecast, so
