nbc bay area political analyst larry gerston joins us now. hi, larry. good morning, good to see you. the bill has been discussed for months by us, by everybody, by the house. is it all the back and forth that's taken it so long? or what is it? >> it sure seems like it's been forever. there's no question about that. i think there are two three things we want to think about. we know that republicans in the house have been dead set against the bill. a very diverse democratic caucus. that's been tough for pelosi. there are some touchy areas with respect to this large almost 2 trillion dollar bill. things like paid family leave, childcare payments for the next year or so, money for climate change, various programs. and in some of these cases, progressives aren't happy that the money isn't enough. and the third point is the bill is not fully paid for according to the congressional budget office. it's anywhere between 160 billion and $360 billion, short from paying for itself. so when you put all of these things together and, yeah, it's still touchy as far as
