the impact of the second storm will be in the north bay. that's the high hills of the north bay getting close to an inch of rain. less in the valleys. and a lot less south of san francisco into san jose. some rain coming in late wednesday to thursday. you see it on futurecast midweek. we should see a similar breakdown of rain totals higher in the north bay and less in the south. let's add up the two storms in four days. this adds up the two storms. sum total could be 2 to 3 inches in the mountains, not as overwhelming as last week. this is good news. adding to the rainfall we started for october. november stays active. and we might see showers out there. form and midweek seem to be the stronger. a little rain. tuesday and wednesday, highs near 70 degrees around the valleys. the rain chances are staying above average. not coming down in feet. i think we saw a week ago. in moderation. good news in the seven-day forecast. >> i feel i would be amiss if i didn't ask you what your twin boys were for halloween. >> one was construction and the othe

here comes the rain at 5:00 in the north bay. heavy rain is slightly -- slated to move in and push across the bay area. the east bay, peninsula, you will see a time when you get those heavy downpours by about 9:00 or 10:00. even into the south bay, we are expecting some rain, not as much is in the north bay. the wind will accompany the system, but by around 9:00 in the morning, things will have settled down in the showers become more widely scattered into tuesday. rainfall amounts about 1.5 inches or better inset arose. -- in santa rosa. over three quarters of an inch in oakland. fremont, one half inch or so. the north bay is looking at the highest impacts here. wins along the coast at 40 to 50 mph. we do have a wind advisory everywhere except in san jose. you'll notice by the afternoon tomorrow, things really begin to taper off. 63 in oakland, with cloud cover increasing throughout the day. a mixup around fremont. frances: they have turned it into a traffic alert. avoid the spot if you can. it is on southbound 880. the two left

we'll see some upper 40's through parts of the north bay like santa rosa, napa. and even to concord. coleen: joint and tomorrow morning, temperatures are in the mid 60's around the bay. san francisco and oakland, 64 but low 70's in a few spots. san jose and livermore, concord, 70. not a wide range of temperatures for tomorrow with all that cloud cover so we're going to see increasing clouds because of the system passing to our north. this will not bring us wet weather but it will bring cooler temperatures throughout the week and in in system arriving thursday night through parts of the north bay. then it sweeps through thursday overall into friday morning. in storm is ranked one out of five on our storm impact scale. so less than .1 inches for most areas. and with the timing you'll realize it's not going to affects nip daytime activities or maybe evening plans at least until about 7:00 on thursday night. here's the seven-day forecast. dense fog possible tomorrow morning once again. cooling continues into wednesday and get right side for that light shower thursday

the rain chances arrive first in the north bay. the rain chances will peak with the most widespread rain north of the golden gate between 10:00 and 2:00. around san francisco and the central bay, it peaks between midnight and 4:00 a.m. the farther south you go, the rain is later but the chances are lower. san jose, the chances peak at a 50/50 chance at more than a trace of rainfall. this is one of those things where most of the rain does not make its way towards you but it is a chance of welcomed rainfall. we will take a look at more chances down the line and it will be the extended forecast coming up in a few minutes. >> all right, paul, thank you. >>> so many parents have been waiting for this moment. right now vaccine appointments for kids are open. this after the cdc director gave the green light to pfizer's kid size vaccine. children ages 5-11 the pfizer doses are a third of the amount given to teens and adults. this opens the door for 28 million kids to get vaccinated nation wide. in the past hour the san francisco supervisor

so that's why north bay rainfall totals will be much higher than the south bay. east bay doing ok and then dry out by about tuesday afternoon. so here's a look at that two to three inch total from santa rosa up through parts of the north bay there over an inch in oakland looking at a third of an inch perhaps in mountain view. these have been updated scaling back on the rainfall along the coast here because we were looking at about an inch of rain. as it gets closer things will considerably change as it does and as it moves quicker through the bay area we'll look at less rainfall accumulation. so if it's stalled out we would see more rain and more problems but as we go through the next several hours it's the winds will be accompanying the rain late on sunday. so you can see winds from 20-40 miles an hour and as that front pushes through we still have the rain but we do have the lighter winds. so looking at highs today underneath a sunny start high clouds in the afternoon with low of 0s. look for about 64. the game today down in santa clara featuring sunny skies wi

a widespread basis, close to 1 inch of rain for most of the north bay. you get into the higher elevations and the atmosphere will squeeze out more moisture in those spots. san francisco looks like close to 1 inch of rain, one half inch on the bayside of the peninsula because you are in the rain shadow there but same thing for san jose. the 1/3 inch will be nice and a little more for the santa cruz mountains but a little more or parts of the east bay, over 1 inch of rainfall. a nice amount of rain, not heavy enough to cause flooding or debris flows on the burn scars. something to watch. breezy with winds picking up through late this evening. the 35 to 40 mile an hour gust, some approaching 50 miles an hour will try to move you around on the roeser travel on the road so travel maybe difficult. it will back off and noticeable tomorrow but not as strong as overnight. temperatures low 60s and upper 60s in san jose, 59 in santa rosa with showers moving in. temperatures drop tonight to the lower half of the 50s with a few 40s sprinkle them. high temperatures to

north bay valleys and east bay valleys. up and down 680 and 580, that's where temperatures are down to the upper 30s. north bay valleys, mid 30s. that stays in effect until 9:00. once we are passed that, this is a nice day. let's get everybody's daytime highs. we will be near or at 70 for south bay locations. 67 sunnyvale, 65 union city. we work towards inland valleys of east bay and numbers are mid 60s, 63 danville, 64 livermore, 65 pleasant hill. come over the hill and into bay proper and temperatures aren't really that different. everybody is pretty much doing mid 60s. this is the time of year where we don't see the temperature spread across the bay as a whole. you do get differences, inland valleys of the north bay will warm up more. you will see that in the seven day. as far as today other than temperatures, it won't be as crystal clear blue sky as yesterday was. yesterday was pretty nice. today is almost as nice but you will notice a few mid level clouds and don't quite get the clear blue sky and brag to your friends

versus what we are likely to find in the north bay. and then, by tuesday morning what is left of those lingering showers should start to scoot on out. so, storm number one of three, i think, we will see this week has the biggest impact. follow the red right there in the north bay. some of the higher peak, mt. tam. the higher peaks around kentfield and i think in sonoma county, we could see an inch of rain. less than a quarter inch for most of the bay area. again, biggest impact here being the north bay. another storm will follow as we get into wednesday and thursday. and a very similar spread for the second storm. bringing the peak rain once again mainly for areas north of san francisco. so, again, this is in moderation, this is nothing but good news for us. we need the rain and it should not be all coming down at once. then, a third chance for rain comes up after a break as we get into friday. it's next weekend kind of like the weekend we are seeing now where a lot of those rain chances will probably be just off to the north bay. but

theresa. >> the big story out of the north bay today. a 15 year-old girl has now returned home after being abducted yesterday in santa rosa kron four's charles clifford tells us police believe this was just a prank. >> well, according to the santa rosa police department. what at first appeared to be the abduction of a 15 year-old girl was actually a prank on the girl involving her boyfriend and another male friend. this all started wednesday afternoon when surveillance video appeared to show the girl being pushed into a minivan near this arco station along guerneville road. the santa rosa police department launched an investigation which led to an amber alert being issued across most of southern california because at the time that's where they believe the girl may have been taken according to police. she was driven to los angeles with her boyfriend and 2 other friends and then returned unharmed to her home in vallejo thursday morning. now, even though this appears to have been a hoax. the amber alert that was issued was very real and tim
