parnell is also endorsed by donald trump. he has his complete and total endorsement. while he is running for this important seat, he is in the midst of a divorce and custody battle for his three children. on monday parnell's estranged wife testified under oath that he allegedly, and i'm going to quote here, choked her until she bit him to escape and once called her a whore and a piece of "s." after a thanksgiving trip he briefly forced her outside of her vehicle alongside a highway after raging at her, telling her to go get an abortion. he testified the alleged abuse extended to their children. he slapped one child hard enough to leave fingerprint-shaped welts through the back of the child's t-shirt. and he once got so angry he punched a closet door that it hit the child and left a bruise. sean parnell denied the claims and said he will prejt his case next week. he's not alone. he's one of many candidates with similar, let's say, problematic profiles that trump has endorsed. candidates with a big chance of being on the ballot in the midterm election and the 2024 gener

but when you look at it from the washington point of view and who has been endorsing sean parnell, former president trump did, you've seen some republicans, though, not want to do so. senator rick scott, you interviewed about this, kind of hedging and saying, we'll see how this primary process plays out before we make any decisions on this. but if you look at the allegations in and of themselves, they're really disturbing. sean parnell has denied them and said he'll appeal this decision by the judge, but they're very disturbing. but it also fits a pattern of what you're seeing from other candidates. herschel walker, in georgia, trying to run for raphael warnock's seat and he's had a series of allegations made against him as well. so i do think it raises broader questions about who they're willing to endorse if they think they are politically viable and this is someone they believed was, of course now he's suspended his campaign, and we'll see where it takes them. this is a very competitive seat in pennsylvania. >> david, what are you reading in this? >> well, obviously donald trump doesn'

if you do get a counter narrative going against burnout, it changes -- against parnell, part -- it changes the dynamics for republicans in a number of races around the country, potentially. republicans still have on the backend, going into 2022, if president biden is able to lock down that baseline infrastructure legislation, it passed, it may already be signed today, it sets up a different narrative on policy and politics for next year. it is going to be harder, particularly some of those brick -- swing states to go owning the lives -- the libs, the mantra on the right, two people were now enjoying going back to work, construction projects, covid in a better place on covid. we've gotten through an academic year, kids back to school, moms in suburbia feel better, very different narrative. you got to have something to say to those voters other than, they are not doing anything for you, because they will have done something. >> if the snarl gets rosier. what do they say? >> republicans? >> yes. >> it depends, essay it is back at 50%, is a different scenario. >> one of the things i tried to c

when i like at these gop candidates, you have sean parnell in pennsylvania whose wife accused him of excessive violence against her and children. you have a proud boy on the ballot. six of the people that participated in the january 6th insurrection, won elections a couple weeks ago. i'm curious, you still talk to staff there. one, would you feel safe working on capitol hill knowing they roam the halls of congress and do you think staff feels safe? >> no. a perfect example is marjorie taylor greene gun toting in the halls of congress. the members don't feel safe, either. we ultimately have to get down to the fact that there are some standards that have to shift, and i really don't see an end of the matter, tiffany. the reason why is of course, there was a census last year. of course, we're in the process of redistricting. many plans resubmitted and approved. they are making these districts hyper republican and when they're in hyper republican districts, they can get away with anything and we've seen with the election of donald trump that there are millions of people who either suppor
