nearly 500 pound bear to finally climbed down from a tree that is now having a petaluma neighborhood. on a shelter in place since early this morning for more than 12 hours at last check, the bear still very high up in that tree in southwest petaluma had to kind of look in their like you can really see they are in there. >> so news of the bear caused police to issue the shelter in place in the richmond heights neighborhood and kron four's camila barco takes us out of petaluma with the details. >> people could barely wrap their minds around this wake-up call. a bear was seen roaming the streets of pat aluma early sunday morning and some time before 07:00am that bear climbed up this street and stayed there for hours. petaluma police say the first sighting of the bear was just after midnight in the raman heights neighborhood. they located the bear again around 02:00am on 6 and i street 2 hours later it was spotted again wandering 2 blocks away. police say the bear eventually got spooked and climbed up this street, north bay animal services monitored the animal until the department of fish

we just got this update from petaluma police. the bear has been hanging out and that redwood tree since 2 o'clock in the morning, forcing the surrounding area to shelter in place. that order has now been lifted north bay animal services telling us the bear is anywhere from 400 to 500 pounds on shore and the gender. but it's not that uncommon to see bears up in trees and authorities made the decision to leave the bar alone and let it come down on its own. >> so there's been up that river kwai while but it's a little bit high up in the tree. you know, you're there right now. you can see how high it is and so our staff decided it wouldn't really be safe to tranquilize the bear because, you know, the back and fall and the back to get hurt. to circumstances we've decided to kind of back off a little bit and give the bear a little bit of space and give it the chance to come down. it's on and to go back to its habitat. >> that approach seemed to have worked. the bear was last seen headed towards the petaluma golf and country club got an

there was extra security today at kenilworth junior high school in petaluma. all in response to a bomb threat petaluma police say over the weekend they received information about a possible bomb threat. the alleged bombing it would happen. this upcoming friday officials have already been interviewing students who reported the threat as well as those who are allegedly involved. police say they haven't found any credible evidence so far. over in the east bay hateful slurs and messages found on the walls of an asian owned business in oakland's chinatown neighborhood. take a look. they were recently spotted it new 10's market on 7th street. carl cham, the president of the oakland chinatown chamber of commerce says he first alerted this. but the business owners about the anti-asian slurs written on their walls and says the owners then called police chief and spend an active voice in the community as anti-asian attacks became more frequent during the pandemic. he says the rhetoric surrounding his community is an on going problem. >> joey, the asian community, especi
