stover. dr. stover: thank you for the question. we have to take a systems approach connecting food and health. there is a major disconnect right now between food production and our expectations around consumer health. we have to address this across the food system. we heard about the relationship between diet and disease, incentive programs, other types of federal interventions. we need to approach this considering the entire food value chain, from farm inputs to consumer behavior in human nutrition. we saw during covid-19 that a change in consumer behavior, not eating at restaurants anymore, eating at home, played havoc on the agriculture and food value chain. they are all connected. if we want to set the goal, the purpose of the food system, to lower health care costs, protect the environment, whatever goals we have, we have to focus on that goal and have to take advantage of every opportunity, all the knowledge we have today, towards that specific goal. and we have to do it in a way that we acknowledge where our research gaps ar
