east bay up to about 87%. finally our south bay reservoirs, up to 91% capacity. even lexington here at 48.8% has jumped from 20% capacity just at the beginning of the month. that is a 25-foot rise in the water levels there at lexington. what all this means is this is a great start. you can see the peak of our rain season comes in next month. that is typically the biggest rain producer. a three-month period as we go from january to february, if we can maintain this fast start, see average to above average snowfall and rainfall will go a long way to fully unwinding the drought across the state. garvin. >> rob, thank you very much. >>> now, not only have the storms grown the snowpack, but all that rain is filling our depleted reservoirs. still most remain far below capacity. as nbc bay area's thom jensen reports, some water resource managers aren't quite ready to lift conservation measures. >> reporter: from anderson reservoir in the south bay to san pablo reservoir in the east bay, things are looking much better than they did even just a couple of weeks ago when wa

this includes the south bay and the east bay hills. likely peaking in intensity for the east bay around 11:00 tomorrow night. wind advisory expires at 7:00 a.m. monday morning. now, the rain right now, you see it there in north bay, we are beginning to see some moderate rain push down from the north coast into the north bay. i think the focus for the first 24 hours for the top rainfall totals will be for areas north of san francisco and the santa cruz mountains. notice the progression here. in the santa clara valley or tri-valley, there are gaps in the rainfall. it won't be that heavy in the rain-shadowed valleys early on, reflected in the first 24 hours in the rainfall. all throughout the north bay, ross valley, sonoma county and the santa cruz mountains, rain gets interesting as we move into monday for the south bay and santa cruz mountains. you see the heavier pockets of rain monday into monday afternoon with a focus on the santa cruz mountains. once we look at the 48-hour rainfall totals you see the numbers pick up. the santa cruz

also this just an east bay. congresswoman barbara lee says she has now tested positive for covid in a statement, she says that she is isolating she has mild cold like symptoms. lee is fully vaccinated against covid. she also got her booster shot. >> and this is in hand east bay. the oakland city council has voted to require proof of vaccination to enter certain businesses to this includes restaurants bars gyms, senior centers. the requirement to be vaccinated also applies to kids 12 and older, but they will not be required to show proof as adults. well, people will have to start showing proof of vaccination at those indoor locations by february 1st by january 15th the locations covered by the ordinance will have to have signs warning patrons of the upcoming requirement, the ordinance is similar to ones adopted recently by san francisco and contra. costa counties. san jose mayor sam liccardo is proposing a vaccine booster mandate for all city employees. there. he also wants to require visitors to city facilities

bay. >> we are seeing a couple crashes in that area and slow speeds. that drive antioch into concord. it's sluggish this morning. we have a trouble spot as well. just give yourself extra time as you head out the door. that crash is westbound 4. right at -- two lanes blocked due to the overturned vehicle. look at that red in the middle of the screen. speeds down to about 23 miles an hour. westbound highway 4 as you work through pittsburgh, making your way into that concord area. i was going to show you a live look near 680. busy there as well. we will see if we can get the camera for you in my next word. it's slow. westbound 45 minutes from antioch to 80. that's about along highway 4. 45 minute drive. we have the brake lights in to the pass. more on that in my next report. >>> the and the storm left a huge mess all over the bay area. it'll likely take a few days to clean up the downed trees. >> let's get to the update on the flooding on i-280 and san jose. >> here in san jose it is sprinkli

here's a live look at the bay bridge conditions continue to whet the bay area. we've got high, gusty winds. >> we're going to have an update on your weather and your traffic. once we get back. >> welcome back to the kron 4 morning news that i view now for 29. and as the storm continues to move to the bay area. if you're leaving your house this morning. definitely give yourself a little extra time. we've got multiple traffic collisions all across the bay area. some pretty intense weather. so our meteorologists on travel even tracking that. where is the storm situated. you know, we can see on the radar. looks like pretty much everywhere. yeah, that's a very true widespread rainfall across almost all of the bay area right now. it's light to moderate for most areas. but there are some heavier pockets imbedded in there, too. and this is having a big impact. >> across all our roadways. so what a way to be starting off your monday morning commute with such slick conditions. hopefully you've got yourselves out of bed. a little extra early. the advice is get on the roads

well, in the north bay. a man accused of stabbing an uber driver on christmas day has been arrested 19 year-old triston harden was spotted walking across the golden gate bridge monday night by chp. he's accused of attacking and stabbing his uber driver on christmas and what police call a random act of violence. it happened in santa rosa. the victim drove himself to a local hospital and is expected to survive. harden is being held on 1 million dollars bail. well, you might be popping some courts to celebrate the new year. but supply chain problems have hit the wine industry heart that also includes champagne. there's a shortage of that. >> you've got the ship's read. champagne is coming over. but you've also that trucks in france that need to get it from the winery to the port and then they're shipping it over need to have trucks here in the u.s. and it's not even just that basic transportation issue. we're also looking at things like shortages of the cage that goes on top of your bottle. boxes to put mine in

that is not the case in the bay area right now. this three bedroom home in oakland sold for almost 1.3 million dollars over asking, just yesterday. in an interview on cbsn bay area, gianna franco talks to is a low economist about the factors. such a competitive market. >> you have these low interest rates, and then the demand in the market these days, but obviously not a lot of homes are out there and available for people looking to purchase. >> definitely. you know, with low inventory, we just don't have enough homes on the market and that has been a problem for the last decade. at the end of the great recession, builders stopped building homes and never picked back up to the level they were before. now, we have millennial's coming into the market trying to buy first homes, we have a lot of boomers who are downsizing, and we have all these people in the market at once and there is not enough supply to get there. we need to work on adding new inventory as well as focusing on getting more existing homes on the market. >>> you can ca

you can see across the bay area, down to an average f 37 in the south bay. peninsula 39, tri valley at 35, and 34 is one of the coldest locations. san francisco 33 and the east bay at 36. daytime highs tomorrow are going to stay chilly. but overall, i think a nice day for december, no matter where you go it's going to feel about the same here. 55 in morgan hill. so we get that sunshine. we have 50s. i think it's going to be a good december day for us. but, again, things are going to change and fast. i want to make sure you're ready to go for that storm system, because it now looks like we're definitely going to see this heavier, widespread rain, potentially flooding issues. so i have started to bump up the totals a little bit here. timing overall really looks the same on this. at this point the highest totals are going to be for the coastal mountains and north bay. rain totals raking ranging from .75 to 3 inches. there could be power issues with 20-50 mile-per-hour wind gusts. the storm system is off to the north. we think it's going to begin to develop on s

the bay in palo alto, some of the spots along there could flooding. we will see low 60s for much of the peninsula. 56 in daly city today, and in half moon bay also in the upper 50s. 50s for san francisco from the marina, and the north bay temperatures reaching into the mid-60s this afternoon. as we go into the next several days, it's going to be a little cooler. if you are going out to spots like christmas in the park, make sure you are wearing a warmer coat compared to the day's past. we are still looking at dry weather in the forecast, storm track well to the north of us. the high pressure that kept us dry is moving away, and that's going to allow for more active weather patterns to come in. it shows that a lot of the rain falls apart as it moves closer to the bay area, but at least we are seeing a change in the pattern, and for that we could put in slight rain chances. before the weekend, we will be dry and we will get a lot of sunshine. >>> mike, you have been watching the impacts of the fog on the morning commute? >> a lot of notes from chp. that

wind advisories in effect for most the bay area bridges. bay bridge included. be careful as you cause the span. 880 oakland. flooding just north of here, along 880. mostly in the right lanes. stick to the middle if you can and the bridge, looks like traffic moving at the limit. 12 minutes between 880 and 101. >>> we are seeing the effects of nonstop rain across the bay area. flooding, damaging winds and this storm isn't over just yet. the storm is leaving a huge mess and will likely take a few days to clean up all the downed trees and other debris. >> and check out this video from jim flanagan in san jose. the southbound connector ramp from i-280 to guadalupe parkway is flooded. it's not expected to reopen until this afternoon. we will have a report from the scene in less than 30 minutes and some roads have turned in to lakes in sonoma county. andrea and mark were out braving the elements all night long. >> i'm here at highway 121 where it meets 12 and this has been closed most of the night. cal trans had hoped to open it back up around eight but as you can see
