cnn's lucy cavanaugh has more on this tragic story. louie, what can you tell us? >> reporter: well, tragic and devastating is how the lapd police chief described this officer-involved shooting that led to the death of this 14-year-old girl. officers say they were responding to multiple calls of a possible active shooter at this north hollywood burlington store on thursday around noon. when they arrived, they found the suspect, who was, they say, assaulting another woman. she was transported to the hospital with injuries. they confronted the suspect, opening fire. the suspect was killed, but a subsequent search of the premises led to a gruesome discovery. take a look. >> a subsequent search of the upper floor, we found a hole in the wall, and behind the drywall, solid wall that you can't see behind, we went behind it and it turned out to be the dressing room. and what we did is we were able to locate a 14-year-old female who was found deceased in that dressing room. >> reporter: now, we know that teenager, the 14-year-old girl, was shopping with her mother. the los
