it's ivanka being asked to testify in congress. it's also a remarkable 8-1 loss in the supreme court on executive privilege. all of this stuff is happening together. i haven't even mentioned rudy yet. so with respect to this letter i think it is a remarkable letter that congress sent to ivanka trump. i put the entire thing on my twitter because it is worth, it is many pages long and reveals all sorts of information like that general kellogg said that ivanka was present when donald trump tried to pressure mike pence to throw out the count on january 6th and then foreshadowing the liz cheney stuff that she tried to go in at least, that ivanka trump tried to go in at least twice to stop president trump from doing what he was doing. so what the committee is looking for and what the letter reveals is they want to know at least four things. one, what did ivanka trump know about donald trump's plan for january 6th? second, how did he react as the events unfolded? third, what did she do to try and stop it? and then fourth, what was his rea

they said they want to ask ivanka about that. the committee asserts that they have found no evidence that trump ever called for the national guard to be deployed or any other law-forcement effort be made to protect the capitol over the entire scope of the day january 6th. just goes on and on. these are all revelations of what the committee has found. i should also point out it ends pointedly with a reminder to ms. trump that all white house officials need to have their communications preserved and hand over to the national archives. with the clear implications that perhaps her communications have not been ad kwtly archives and she needs to do that. but man, between the e -- the forged electoral votes finally being unwoven. so we can see where those came from within the trump campaign. we can see rude a -- remember, president trump put rudy giuliani in charge of the effort to mount some sort of pseudo legal effort to keep trump in power, even though he had lost the election. apparently what giuliani did was helm this effort to sen

they want to talk to ivanka with what she heard on at least one end of that phone call. they also want to know why the president didn't just go to the briefing room. there's always a live cameras, plenty of reporters in the briefing room just steps away from his office, why didn't he go there and call for an end to the violence? they are also seeking to talk to her about whether trump did or did not ask to deploy the national guard and there were staff members trying to deflect questions about what was going on with the national guard at that time. interestingly they also in detailed evidence that they have gathered about efforts to keep the president away, from quote, crazy people. apparently this was an effort in an effort they are gathered by fox news host sean hannity. kayleigh mcenany tried to keep them away from the crazy people that were hatching a plan that were trying to get him to the inauguration day, quote, land the plane, as hannity said. a stunning amount of new details in this letter it. real paints the picture of the a chaotic white house and staff member

congress now wants to hear from ivanka trump. given how li tinlous the trumps are i think it is only a matter of hours before we see a lawsuit about former executive's favorite child privilege. but i think that's, you know, that's likely to happen. i think the timing of this is not surprising. it comes on the heels of a remarkable loss for donald trump by the u.s. supreme court last night which in my judgment is a key step in restoring the rule of law in this country. what that decision last night -- what has gotten lost in the last 20 hours is what that case, nicolle was about. by that i mean the specific documents. congress was trying to know what trump was doing on january 6th. they wanted his diary. they wanted a handwritten note that he wrote. they wanted to know what he did that day. and he went into court, including all the way to the supreme court, and said, no, the american people don't have a right to know what i was doing on january 6th. and he lost that claim 8-1 in the supreme court. and so it is not surprising today

they want to hear from ivanka about why it took her father so long to respond. they want to get her response to public reports that she had been urging trump to ask the people to leave the capitol for two hours by the point he released that taped statement, and additionally they want to know why trump didn't walk out to the press briefing room where there are always cameras poised and ready to broadcast. finally the committee said even fox hosts were trying to get trump to stop talking about what he called the stolen election even after january 6. we've seen the texts, sean hannity imploring, mike mcenany to keep trump from, quote, crazy people. the letter to ivanka says, the select committee would like to discuss the effort after january 6th to persuade president trump not to associate himself with certain people, and to avoid further discussion regarding election fraud allegations. it is several pages in this letter detailing what they want from the former president's daughter who was constantly by his side. ivanka hasn't directly said she would sit down with

and ivanka trump to testify about what they know about her findings. she said, the office of the attorney general has collected significant additional evidence indicating that the trump organization used fraudulent or misleading asset valuations to obtain a host of economic benefits, including loans, insurance coverage and tax deductions. according to james, this covers a number of trump properties, office buildings as well as golf courses. she lays out a number of these alleged misstatements here. ticking through them, she says they overstated the size of trump's trump tower penthouse, they mischaracterized the assets in the trump organization's control on his cash financial statements when they didn't actually have control of that money. they also alleged they misstated the process with which trump or his associates came up with these valuations that were on these financial statements, and that they failed to use fundamental techniques valuations, breaking from the norm to come up with the numbers that they wanted. they also allege that they misstate
