also in san francisco and moving down to san mateo as well as burlingame, and some other areas up and down the peninsula dealing with those showers as you are heading out on this tuesday morning. we are seeing some of the scattered showers that will continue. we will see some more rain, but take a look at the rainfall totals. we had in mount tam nearly four inches of rain in the past 24 hours. looking at scott skraebg in the santa cruz mountains, two inches of rain there, and we are approaching half an inch in san francisco and walnut creek, just a little lower, but san josÉ has not measured much of anything and seeing the same in the tri-valley. we will have mainly light rain and it will be on and off for some of the spots, and looking ahead we are going to see some additional rainfall over the next couple of days. we're only looking at about another few hundreds of an inch of rain in the tri-valley. as far as the sierra snowpack, it has been so great to see this big boost we have gotten. statewide we are at 147% of normal. we are still looking good here. we will also see some light

it will take place at the san mateo county event center. it will start at noon and will be open tuesdays through saturdays and also happening today, the west contra costa unified school district is opening 3 new testing sites for students and staff. the district says it's already distributed about 15,000 testing kits to students and their families. but school officials say that these drive-thru pickup stations for tests. well, it's just one step of several that they're taking to try to keep students safe and slow the spread of the disease. you can find all the locations for the new testing sites on our website at kron 4 dot com speaking of covid testing, it still remains limited throughout the bay area with kron four's taylor per second with a closer look now in san francisco is testing requirements. there or appointments there quickly filling up and city leaders are actually blaming it on a lack of supply. >> available covid testing appointments are few and far between in san francisco as families scramble to get tested after the holidays.
