this is abc 7 news. dan: today, prosecutorn: today,d sonoma county kicked off weeks of preliminary hearings against pg&e. they pressed criminal charges, blaming them for starting a wildfire in 20 19. if convicted it would add to a lengthy criminal rap sheet for pg&e. ama: includes was in the courtroom today. >> they got off federal criminal probation two weeks ago. now it's back in court, facing criminal charges, and mix of felonies and misdemeanors. it destroyed more than 100 homes, nobody died but it came close. multiple firefighters were injured and some of the charges involved injuries. pg&e also faces charges for environmental crimes for the smoke emitted by this fire. they have been fighting those charges particularly forcefully, tried to get the judge to toss out the charges before they got to these hearings. they are about establishing whether there is enough evidence for them to go to trial. he showed photographs to the court that showed detail about the broken jumper cable on a big high-voltage
