he was still at the academy robert e. lee became superintendent. and it was quite frequent to see jeb stuart having dinner and hanging out at the home of the leaves there at the academy. so this was to be a something very important for his development as the years went by. one other thing happened to him at the academy. he got a nickname that stuck with him for life. the other cadets called him beauty. and it wasn't because he was pretty we have a picture of him the top one. this is the year. he graduated from the academy everybody noted. he wasn't all that big wasn't all that tough and according to the accounts of his friends. he had a very receding chin. that was very short. you can't see it that well in that picture, but it's somewhat disfigured him. well, he took care of that later in life. this is a picture of him later on. he grew a big beard to cover up that at least what he perceived as a defect and knew that his friends looked at that same way. and as a matter of fact one of his friend said that stuart was the on
