chair haney. i want to thank supervisor peskin and emily and h.s.h. and the lower knob hill neighbor for a quick productive community engagement discussion of this project over the past weeks. i do want to say this was what very important to me when we considered this a month ago that the city really commit to real outreach and meaningful engagement with the neighbors about this important project. to me, i think this is an example of how we can do these projects right and really not just jump to the conclusion. listening to them, allowing them to voice their very legitimate concerns and in this case, really come up with a very reasonable list of requests that the city for this project, the 16 items that were in the letter that i saw that we received last night. i appreciate the h.s.h.'s response. there will be a ongoing discussion about. i think it's been very productive. i do appreciate that. i guess i look forward. i know probably have lot of folks who will share their perspective in the discuss

afternoon chair haney, commissioner gordon. this is an exercise we have to go through with our funding sources and the funding source we're looking at is called highway safety improvement program and usually those funds that we get our federal or critical street safety vision zeroconsistent projects . this particular time though we're getting funds from the state which we don't usually get, not under this highway safety program and because they are new funds, we have to go to the board ofsupervisors because the agreement is open-ended . this master agreement and it could extend over 10 years and because of that long duration , we need to approach the board ofsupervisors to get its approval . there's no net fiscal impact per se but without this master agreement in place we can't get one off brands including $2 million that we're waiting to, we've actually received sort of what we can't do anything with it until this master agreement is executed that $2 million is for traffic signal and safety improvements via market street. so i
