jackie: the ceo dismissed a lot of that chatter. they have a commitment to grow the business, but there is mounting pressure from investors. doordash is getting bigger, uber is catching up. where does this leave grubhub? they need to look for new areas of growth in order to make that a convincing argument that they do have a future in the food delivery space. emily: what is going to be the sticking point that defines the delivery wars over the next year? between uber, doordash and grubhub, who is going to win? jackie: this is an interesting question and i think it's beyond my pay grade. but what investors tell me is that this cross-platform strategy is what's really going to be a lasting driver of growth. after the pandemic, the surge really wanes and starts to ease. we see people go back to their normal behaviors. we will see delivery have a place, but it's all about what times of the day can you get people? how can you increase the basket sizes and make this almost, you know, part of your life that you just cannot, you know, take

jackie, let me jump to you while we get chris back on. there is this narrative that democrats have been struggling with to get things done, but republicans are the ones who have been blocking the democrats from pushing things through. democrats had better get voters to understand who is standing in the way of progress. how is that going to happen? >> yeah, katie, i'm definitely going to answer that question, but your question to chris reminded me of a terrific piece that my colleagues wrote this week that i think maybe helps explain why the biden administration is trying to pivot and reframe their approach, and it focuses on how low income workers have seen some of the fastest wage growth in the pandemic era and the most benefits from the legislation pushed through due to the pandemic, but those gains are being ee roted to the highest inflation in 40 years, and so that paycheck, those gains aren't going anywhere. so it's hard for the administration to speak to their legislative successes when they're not being felt on the ground. you look

we're back with mike, jackie, david, and joyce. jackie, tell us about your reporting. >> what initially seemed like an odd and bizarre habit from the former president first reported in 2018 continued well into 2020 and even into the potentially 2021 according to our new reporting that the former president and potentially some of the people around him, were illegally shredding and ripping up the documents that were supposed to be preserved under the presidential records act. the national archives received many of these documents. they confirmed that to us yesterday in a statement. they also said they received documents that not only had been ripped up and taped back together by a recording management analyst that works for the archives, but documents that were so shredded that they actually were not reconstructed. we also know that the committee has received some of these documents after a lawsuit in the supreme court ruled that they were able to get access to them. there was a trench, we've got 700 pages. we don't know which in the

and to jackie and steve at bpc, thank you very much for your leadership. i'll tell you how i came to ask bpc to consider this issue. it stemmed from an incident that took place at the university of washington in seattle. it was january 2017. a student had invited a speaker by the name of milo to come speak. and the president of the university received petitions to overrule the students and not allow the speaker. she also received petitions to reinforce that the speaker should be allowed to attend. unfortunately it ended up in a very unfortunate incident in which an individual was shot. both the victim and the perpetrator were not students or faculty or campus members at all. but it did evolve out of the demonstration. the conclusion that was drawn by the community at large was that in the academic realm, this is evidence of a growing problem with regard to freedom of speech. and in fact the question that was asked is, does it pose a threat to the safety and security of college campuses. i thought that was a terrible conclusion to draw. and instead i felt t
