eight minutes later, they learned of the carjacking that was in downtown napa. we are told one victim was shot in the head from the shooting and transported to a hospital outside of napa county. the victim of the carjacking was not injured. the sheriff's office says they have one person in custody, and they are investigating the two incidents as possibly connect. the sheriff's office is still early in the investigation. they are asking the public for help and to come forward with any information about either the carjacking or the shooting that happened this morning. reporting in napa, shawn chitnis, kpix 5. >>> in just a few hours, the oakland unified school board will have a meeting to address the fallout over planned school closings and immersions. jocelyn moran is following this from the newsroom. >> reporter: after opposition, their voices may actually be heard today. let's break it down. the school board voted on february 8 two close emergent number of schools. two of those schools closures will come at the end of the school year. community day and parker.

napa santa rosa in the 20's. still, we are starting to see some movement upwards as far as temperatures go. that will continue as the sun rises, more and more. and as i mentioned, freeze warnings and frost advisories officially expiring at 09:00am the next few mornings. we will not be having those skies clear and dry today. a good weekend for some travel up into the sierra nevada. if you want to enjoy the fresh snowfall up there, we won't be seeing any new snowfall this weekend in the sierra. but come sunday, we will have the potential of a couple of light sprinkles mostly up into sonoma and napa counties of the north bay. you head north from there on sunday into mendocino and counties further north towards oregon. and that's where we'll see most of that rainfall. this next system skirting a little bit too far to our north through the bay area to tap into that energy, as you can see, we'll see around a trace of an inch for parts of the north bay from that system. wednesday looks much more likely to be seeing some

the shooting happened around 6 40 this morning on highway 2 21 in napa. napa county. sheriff's investigators say a man was shot in his head through his passenger window, but was able to call 911, he said to undergo surgery. sky foxx flew over to 21 after deputies shut down all but one south beyond line from highway 29 to magnolia drive. following that shooting, there was a carjacking in downtown napa. few minutes later, napa police stopped that car. that was car. the driver 42 year old twang win was arrested. investigators described him as a transient, they say he is charged with attempted murder, carjacking and being a felon in possession of a firearm. he's been booked into napa county jail and is being held without bail. gavin newsom is throwing his support behind a new bill banning assault weapons. the governor made the announcement today in san diego, along with state attorney general rob bonta and other state leaders. the bill making its way through the state legislature would let private citizens and force the state's assault weapons ban. by filing civil lawsuit
