but, a good chance of showers overall for the bay area. it will not be a drought buster, but it is nice to see a chance of rain headed our way. settlement through quickly. by late morning on thursday the rain showers will mostly be exiting the bay area. how much are we talking? this is one version of one forecast model indicating limited amounts for much of the northbay. on the high-end, a couple of tenths of an inch of rainfall. higher amounts further south, because again, as the rain showers move in that will not have much moisture to work with until halfway across the bay area. high amounts, closer to a quarter inch of rain further south. we will revise this as we get closer to the showers actually moving in. but, hopefully it is the beginning of a trend sending more rain chances toward the bay area. the outlook for the month of march, we just got an update on that from the climate production center and shows equal chances of above average or below average rainfall for the bay area after that dream dry month of january and that. the thi

strong wind around parts of the bay area right now. taking you live outside. you can see our hotel camera is shaking around just a bit. first alert chief meteorologist paul heggen is here with a look at the windiest spots. >> this is what we expected in that wind advisory that still goes to 7:00 this evening. when it expires, it will still be breezy. the brown shaded areas are where we are getting the strongest gusts. sustained wind, 20 to 30 and gusts up to 45 to 50 miles per hour. still a possibility of trees down and power outages. traffic will be a challenge. i came across the bay bridge and the wind was definitely pushing me around. sustained wind as they stand now, mostly 20 to 25 miles per hour. closer to the coast, 25 to 35 miles per hour, with even higher gusts. a 43 mile-per-hour guest at the san francisco international airport. windy conditions will be with us for the next few hours, but they will subside this evening. tracking hour-by-hour, and taking a look at the next shower tents, coming up. >>> planes leaving from sfo, using different runways.
