to follow breaking news coming out of new york city. the fdny now says multiple people have been injured. and five have been shot at a subway station in brooklyn. emergency officials say they also found several undetonated devices at the station on 36th street in sunset park. this is breaking news this morning. i want to go to frank figliuzzi, who was with us this morning. frank, officials still looking for the person behind this attack. >> yeah, the first order of business, jose, is containment. and containment can't happen until you've captured the suspect or suspects, plural. so that means a manhunt across the city, all hands on deck. nypd very capable, but will be joined by everyone from fbi to atf, u.s. marshals, you name it, all security surveillance cameras, crime scene tape everywhere to contain witnesses. we need witness statements. we need to get security video cameras, cctv, of which there are plenty around the city. this will be handled rapidly, but right now, first priority, capture that suspect, contain the scene, and let'

from this morning of the new york city subway. but he is apparently listed as the person who rented this u-haul vehicle which the nypd recovered in brooklyn earlier tonight. the key for that u-haul rental was apparently found at the scene of the shooting. again, this man, frank james, is apparently the person who rented that vehicle. again, he is only described as a person of interest at this time. they are not describing him explicitly as a suspect. the nypd is asking anybody with knowledge of his whereabouts to please come forward with that information. the nypd is also said that this man, mr. james, made some concerning posts on social media prior to the attack, posts that were about new york city. some of which apparently focus on new york city's mayor, eric adams. we don't know exactly what he said about the mare, but his remarks about the mayor were described as concerning and the nypd responded to the comments on social media by the man described as a portion of interest, they have, they said, tightened the mayor's security

views and has recently criticized the policy of new york city eric adams. according to "the new york times," the ten gunshot victims makes up the worst history. all are expected to survive, the two youngest victims between 12 and 16 years old new york governor kathy hochul visited them at a local hospital. another 13 taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation for injuries happened in the chaos after the shooting. most of those have been released. joining us live is he subway is nbc correspondent vaughn hillyard. there was a sense there of panic, traffic was snarled. people seemed reluctant to get on the subway with the shooter still at large. what's the reaction there as the commute begins? >> reporter: the subway station is back open in new york city form here, jonathan. to give the two story lines that are key here as the sun rises is number one, that there were no fatalities yesterday. you had an individual over the course of a subway ride between two stops, begin opening fire. at least 33 shells were dispensed, authorities said, that they were found at
