this is the rain in emeryville this evening. let's bring in our chief meteorologist jeff ranieri. you said this was a possibility a few days ago. anything different that you're seeing right now? >> not at all. i kind of think the underlining great thing for us we haven't had any major outbreaks in the bay area. so far we've seen some lightning to the south and the east of us. so far it's been beneficial. but talk about a complicated weather pattern here. we have low pressure and high pressure both of those are acting like conveyer belts. this high pressure pulling in some monsoonal moisture and then low pressure. that's helping to pull in at least some humidity from tropical storm frank that's setting off some of this isolated lightning here through the bay area. so monsoonal moisture, tropical storm frank contributing to this activity. now you'll see as we loop this around again, most of the lightning strikes over the sierra, we've seen a few here develop just offshore over the past couple of hours will get you into a closer view. the biggest thing i'm tracking is just offshore.
