my dad was a fighter pilot in the air force and two tours in vietnam. when i started getting interested in being a pilot, my dad was super encouraging and very excited for me. i was in the air force first about 7.5 years we were able to refuel all sorts of different types of aircraft. we went through hawaii to guam got to fly to australia , the philippines, korea, and then i also got to refill my husband. one time when i was in the tanker, you could fly pregnant until the end of your sixth months. i worked really hard to get back into flying. found out i was pregnant with our third and at that point, i just thought i don't think i can do this. i really actually struggled with it for a while after i had walked away just in that, you know that that's your identity now. i was no longer this pilot anymore. so in our grad magazine, an article about the air force's initial flight training down in pueblo, and it just seemed like a really neat way for me to get back into flying and instructing didn't really think i was going to go somewhere else or do something
