stephanie: ok, thank you. this morning new details in the , investigation into the death of tyre nichols. a sixth memphis police officer, who was originally suspended, has now been fired. preston hemphill personal misconduct, and improper taser use. he will not face criminal charges, unlike the other five officers. those five are facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder. also two memphis fire department , emts had their licenses revoked over tyre nichols' death. they both failed to give critical care to nichols. nichols was beaten by police on january 7 and died a few days later. today, a sacramento community is celebrating the life of tyre nichols. nichols was a sacramento native , who was also a photographer and skateboarding enthusiast. the skate shop is holding the event so people can skate in his memory. the event will be joined by tyre's friends and family. and the oakland unified school district is also honoring nichols. they will hold a series of free weekly skateboarding classes for stu

stephani dr. daniel edney is mississippi's top health officer and a practicing physician for more than 30 years in the state. dr. edney: you have to understand, in mississippi, poverty drives most everything. and with poverty comes obesity, because there are fewer choices for healthy food, and there are fewer opportunities for exercise and increased activity. obesity drives diabetes, which drives -- in coordination with hypertension, drives heart disee and stroke. overlaying all of that is access to care. stephanie: access that edney says is made more limited by the fact that mississippis one of 11 states that has not expanded medicaid, a change that has been resisted by republican leaders in the state. dr. edney: it's not my role to advocate one way or the other, but i point out where the resoces are. and, in 2023, part of federal funding of health care is the affordable care act. it just is. and we have a very big danger in mississippi, especially in mississippi delta, of hospitals closing or do

stephanie: a broken record on that score, so thank you. we've had 23 months where the ppi, input cost of businesses has been going up faster than ability to raise prices to consumers and, i know there are signs that consumer is hitting break point we saw a huge increase in this credit card borrowing to accommodate increase in cost everything people couldn't live without but recent numbers, parse that people are saying look i am not going to keep running up credit card balances actually trying to rebuild saving a little bit that is going to continue to provide a headwind, to corporate earnings, consumers are closing pocketbooks i would describe them spent up lent up. and that is going to be a real problem, on the earnings front. as of now, the forecast for s&p arranges this year is zero growth, so that is definitely down from the double-digit growth they were forecasting months ago but we were facing a profits recession on order of 15 to 20% going forward so i think there is a lot of work for the market to do in terms of pricing, this earni

i'm stephanie ruhle. we begin tonight with a big developments on two separate investigations into donald trump. the new york times reporting that special counsel jack smith has subpoena ivanka trump and her husband jared kushner to testify before a grand jury, according to two people briefed on the manner. donald trump's daughter and son-in-law both served as white house officials in the trump administration, and they both gave interviews to the january 6th committee. earlier today, committee member zoloft greene reacted to the subpoena news. >> both of them appeared before our committee. some of it was useful. but i will say there was a vagueness, especially with mr. kushner, but also ivanka, where it was just hard to believe they could not remember some of the things they claimed not to remember. i believe that a grand jury appearance might shake the recollections in some cases. >> it might, the committee did get a vaunted to talk about whether she believed her father's election fraud lies. and they ask
