i knew i wanted to write about my family and about my dad specifically. i think this book kind of originated a long time ago when i was a little kid i wrote i think in middle school i wrote a little book of things you taught me and i had written on every page something he tossed me along the way and he still has that in his desk so that kind of was the originating both behind this and a reference to it in the preface talking about the different lessons he taught me and how those wound up in this book but at the same time how they've kind of added and changed over the years. i thought i was going to write more about the campaign trail and ended up being a lot more about our family and growing up in a political family and learning the lessons for that. as a little girl sandwiched between a precocious older brother and a sister a lot of people can relate to a middle child. can you explain to what he means by that and how you fit into that family dynamic? >> i've always been in the middle. i would be kind of the go-between and i think when you are in the midd
