Dining Services, in collaboration with faculty in Biological Sciences and Geography & Earth Sciences, recently built an on-campus home for a new honey bee colony. The colony will provide a hands-on research environment for faculty and students to study the bees and their behavior. Additionally, the honey bees will help to pollinate flowers across campus, making the flowers in the Botanical Gardens bloom better and brighter, while one day providing honey for catering events and on-campus teaching kitchens.
